Did we invade Iran?
Why is FOX reporting that the Iranian people are the most pro-American people in the Middle East and that they praised us for invading Iraq? Is that true? And those comments folled comments about Iran being in violation of whatever law it is they're violating and being in Bush's "Axis of Evil". Sound like some serious war preparation propaganda to me..........

8. Absolutely correct ...
... and hopefully, the intelligent indigenous people there know in their hearts who their allies are and act accordingly when the time comes

2. My best friend is Iranian-American - her family is still there
it is true that they WERE pro-American - but then we bombed the sh*t out of their neighbor ( and EX-moral enemy). They are not as focused on religion as other countries, but they UNDERSTAND that their familial blood is being spilled. The Iranians are a young people, over 50% under 25. They pay attention, and have determined that we mean them no good.

3. Aren't they a pretty rebelious people, in the sense that they
want to overthrow their current leadership, but don't have the means (weapons?) to do it?

And I assume they wouldn't want "help" from us....

4. It's in the works
Saw it on one of those damn cable networks tonight. It's only a matter of time before our 'democracy spreading", takes place in Iran. Of course, the stakes will be higher, because I truly believe we'll be seeing nuclear weapons in the process.

Half glass empty? I think not.

aunts, uncles, and cousins getting blown up. Do you recognize how much they hate us? The shr*b has lost ALL that we had...... but the media will tell you none of this.

14. correct, no help from us allowed.
if we did 'help' them we'd cause no end of headache and send them screaming back into hardcore reactionary islamic fundamentalism. basically by invading we'd verify all the horrible 'Great Satan' things the irani gov't has been spreading to it's populace about us. we'd be throwing away the most remarkable opportunity for grassroots democracy fixing an old problem *we made* for an absolute jyhad/crusade/holy war of the WHOLE FREAKING WORLD against us.

2nd largest oil supplier held by us, pisses off the world beyond belief. do that to the 3rd largest oil supplier as well and not only will the gates of hell be wide open, but out and out armageddon would be in our world. also the 1st largest oil supplier (saudi arabia) is in not good shape because of our stupidity. they are having serious unrest, it's just a matter of time they lose.

bush lit a powder keg, now he's sauntering towards the storehouse of C-4 and TNT with a lit match. it's really that bad.

10. China gets most of their oil from Iran
If we don't go in with them, we could well be fighting them in the streets of Teheran. The whole concept is sickening to me, plus, it will almost guarantee I'll get fucking recalled.

11. welcome to WWIII
this is bad. i have no doubt we are going in - they've tried to go in before.
asia times was reporting on China's backing, (india's, korea, pakistan?) he's threatened France and Germany ("if they don't come around to our way of thinking")

asia times was wondering why this 'positioning' hadn't recieved any u.s. press - good clue.

u.s. dollars dropped 52% against the EU, BEFORE bush pushed the debt up higher.
guess who's the biggest holder of our debt? China.
China has their currency undervalued (why things are so cheap) and linked to ours.
So, good ol' bush starts pushing them to let theirs float (which they promised to do).
is bush really an american?

12. It's not just Fox. CNN is pushing the thing- PLUS this:
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 02:00 AM by Cat Atomic
'Dissidents provided intelligence on Iran's attempts to put a nuclear warhead on a missile'. Then someone mentioned that it's a single source.

They've got some new Chalabi. It's almost exactly the same thing we saw with Iraq.

13. How bloody wonderful.
And we will all bake together when we bake
There'll be nobody present at the wake
With complete participation in that grand incineration
Nearly three billion hunks of well-done steak

15. Not Surprised -- It will happen.
First off, hi everyone!!! I am pleased to be here with fellow LIBERALS on DU -- a good portion of the sane 56 (and counting) million!

Bush, that self-righteous, religious zealot wants our country to set a trail for a blaze of glory in the Middle East... Ha, ha... Yeah right! Blaze of Glory? More like blaze of ignorance. Under the * our country is getting increasingly more imperialistic. I had been in the Army up until February of this year, and I can assure you all of one thing... There were whispered "rumors" of us going to Iraq months before 9/11 even happened. Furthermore, I can tell you that a good buddy of mine has indicated to me that rumors of the same intensity are ablaze -- for lack of a better term -- regarding Iran. *sigh* At this rate... At this rate * will be sure to achieve his apocalyptic, born-again right-wing, nut job, holier-than-thou, orgasmic, drooling, idiotic, misplaced, and grim fantasies. This does not bode well for our republic...

:(
