Valley Girls
Here's how I think we win back the House and if I may be so confident, the Senate in '06.

Coin the term "Valley Girls" to describe Republicans.

"These Republicans spend our money like Valley Girls with daddy's credit card. Our deficit is rising and rising while the Republicans in Congress laugh and giggle in Congress over 'gross' things like gay marriage and abortion. While they are laughing it up in the front, Americans all over the country are sitting in the back of classrooms and being stuffed in their lockers unable to voice concerns about the rising costs of lunches and school supplies.

These Valley Girls in Washington have turned a blind eye to all of this. Why? Because they are 'boy' crazy. They can't decide on just one 'boy'. No no, it changes every day. One day Iraq looks good, the next day Iran. There's that mysterious foreign exchange student North Korea that gets a little attention every once in awhile too. Like all Valley Girls, their plans for 'conquest' involve the attacking stage. There is no plan for long-term commitment and in the end, everyone gets hurt.

These Valley Girls in Washington all have special health care plans. Their health is fine and they don't care what happens outside of their little clique. They can't see that millions of people excluded from their group have health care costs going through the roof. People are losing their jobs and their new jobs don't have health care benefits but what do the Republicans in Washington care? They like totally have job security.

Well guess what Valley Girls? Daddy's home and he isn't happy. No more credit card, no more boys and no more drugs! You are like totally grounded!"

The argument can go on and on with almost any issue. Plus the Valley Girl phrase can be used in 'blue states' that have Republican Congressman. "The Republicans from the Red Valley, don't know how to run the government." "The folks in the Red Valley have so much land between them, maybe that's where they plan on hiding the deficit." It also puts the out of touch effeminate stereotype on the Republicans and off of Democrats. I think it works in multiple ways for us. This could be one of our tickets back in.

1. Interesting approach
We need to win the rhetoric war. Pure and simple. There is no more high road. We are in the trenches and we had better start acting like it.

3. I like that,
so grody to the max. My kids use to use that phrase when they were in High school. I think we should bring that back to use against the terrorist in Washington.
