If indicted, I will serve |

My letter in tomorrow's Seattle Times:
Dear Editor: The rank hypocrisy of the rule change that allows a Congressional representative to serve while under felony indictment should make anyone with the least bit of decency finally gag on what the Republicans call "values". So now we taxpayers must pay a possible felon's paycheck while we also pay for his trial? What happens if he's convicted--running a Congressional office from a jail cell?

And then there's this little blast from the past. I hate it when republicans "make" me agree with them ;-) :sarcasm: Gee newt, where are ya when your country needs you :/sarcasm: :puke:
"And I think, frankly, we should adopt the rule the Democrats have prospectively, which I think is a sound rule that once indicted you step down." newt gingrich 1993
