A list of great things the ACLU has done for Christians

To all the Trolls and Lurkers who read this and are Conservative Christians: If you read this list you will discover that the ACLU has done more positive things for Christians and Christianity than the leaders of the Christian Right could ever do.

The ACLU has Opposed State Funding For a Christian University Founded by Pat Robertson
(I included this because anyone who opposes bigots like Robertson is doing a great thing for everybody, and that includes Christians)

The ACLU has supported the Right of Iowa Students to Distribute Christian Literature at School

The ACLU has intervened on behalf of a Christian Valedictorian who had wanted to put a Bible passage in her yearbook entry

The ACLU of Nebraska has defended a Church facing eviction by the city of Lincoln

The ACLU is about civil liberties for ALL, not just for some. The reason why people on the right hate it so much is because the ACLU defends rights for people on the left. Civil rights are for everyone, not just people on the left or right.

3. I think it is more because they represent the defense of

diversity in this country.

That concept in itself is horrifying to xenophobes, who believe we all should be straight white 2.5 kid couples with one SUV and one sedan.

The ACLU is always reminding them what a hodge podge we are, and how far away they are from having God-given dominion over the world.

6. I'm not sure the hate-radio typifies the rights view of the ACLU...

I know several people who cherish thier ACLU membership just as much if not more than thier NRA membership.

In fact, I believe some conservatives work for the ACLU, too.

And at this point I think the talking heads bash the ACLU simply because they like civil liberties, which might conflict with thier radical agenda.

I received an email from one of my "Christian" aunts this morning. It was and anti-ACLU email about how the ACLU is trying to remove crosses from Arlington National Cemetery. :eyes: I snoped the email and sent her the link to the debunking, but the links you provided are even better.
