That's all I can think of. People just don't feel the urgency of what is happening. I just refuse to believe ANYone who voted Kerry would give * a positive approval rating.

The media is so loving to His Royal Highness, King Dumb-Dumb II. I remember in the 70s how aggressive journalists were. What's happened?!

They are afraid to buck him, and stick to his talking points. No need for anything else now.

12. This is why I think
that as Americans move to alternative energy sources, the Shrub Family Dynasty will start to collapse. Bleeding their bank accounts is the best way to do it. Then, he can't buy the MSM. I have "joined" the Oil Peak Forum, and will follow there.

which would be a downward spiral. However, his direction is clear, he is heading down the holl, and therefore I approve of his leadership.

Seriously though, I've stopped trying to figure out how the hell it works.

more likely to say they like him or approve of what he is doing, because

a. they didn't vote, and probably don't pay that much attention
b. they figure, "hey he got reelected, this guys kicks ass"

15. 52% approve of bad government...
...diminished rights, and purging for loyalty. I guess 52% approve of invading the wrong country, too, and driving our debt into dangerous territory. They like the torture and the killing of tens of thousands of innocent civilians in order to liberate them.

Or, perhaps, they don't have access to the truth anymore.

Because
everybody knows that not supporting the idiot now really means bringing most of this country's institutions down. Nearly nobody wants that, including most democrats. The idiot is reigning off of fear and spinelessness. Period. End of story.

16. Do we really want to know
Bush has taken over the center, he ran off the Pat Buchanan's, and Jerry Falwell's, and talks like he is taking on our ideas. Notice how the extremist on the right are criticizing Bush, Bush took the center, that is where elections are won.

In reality I think on most issues we all, both sides of the isle, agree need to be changed, but we disagree strongly on HOW to get things done. Example, everyone knows health care is a massive problem, we say health care should become one of those universal rights like electricity and phone service, more like a public utility, the right says it should be more market reforms, we both agree there is a problem, but no one digs past that. Anorther example, Social Security, we all know it is going to fail, Bush is doing SOMETHING, I have not heard our sides plan, but I am all ears. Right now Bush sounds "reasonable", even if he is pushing a right wing agenda in the back ground.

Bush jumps up and says "I am gonna fix 123XYZ", and everyone goes uhhhh, ahhhh, and that is it, since we do not differentiate ourselves enough, we look like also rans.

We need to explain HOW we are different, WHAT we will do differently, and WHY our ideas result in a better quality of life for the American people.

If we do that, and we have a messenger who does not detract from the message, we win, hands down.

I do not think bush has deep support, but it is wider than ours was. If we can stay on message we win, our message is to powerful not to.

Propaganda initially developed for influencing enemy populations has been adapted to misinforming and shaping the opinions of American citizens.
