Watergate is now a big joke.
The scandal that brought down Richard Nixon seems silly in comparison to everything Bush is getting away with today. I hope history is NOT kind to Bush.

1. Patience
It took two years to bring down Nixon, and it only happened because of a handful of courageous people who were willing to speak out.

2. But it will be much harder this time because.....
The Republicans learned from Nixon. Judges blocked Nixon. The Republicans learned to control the judiciary. Congress investigated Nixon. The Republicans learned to take control of Congress. The media exposed Nixon. The Republicans learned to consolidate and control the media.

It's going to be much harder.

4. what are you saying? How are we supposed to do anything?
No presidency, no judiciary, no congress.....What avenues are left that offer remedies of law? Any, or are we past the point of no return.

18. Watergate wasn't just "the good guys winning"
Nixon was a Washington outsider, viewed with contempt and suspicion by the insider cliques. Katherine Graham, consummate DC insider and publisher of the Washington Post, had diminishing patience with his harping on the hostility of the press toward him.

It may have been Nixon's threat to revoke the FCC license of one of her stations that proved to be the last straw, but she put Naval intelligence operative Bob Woodward onto the then-minor Watergate burglary story. Woodward, like the Post, also had close connections to the CIA, which had in for Nixon anyway, as he and Kissinger had done much to limit their influence on foreign policy.

Once the Watergate ball was rolling, it was the Democratic Congress that made impeachment proceedings possible.

13. Sadly, Mr. Coyote can't spell his name correctly.
Well, not surprising that, with all the phyically hits he incurred trying to catch the Road Runner, he'd have seen his mental faculties diminshed.

14. He could very easily do it if he hasn't ruined us already. That
national debt and his stupid invasion. He has united almost the rest of the world against us. Read some of the economic and money articles going around. We are at the brink of total destruction. All we need to push us over the edge is oil traded in euros or China dumping the US dollar. What kind of economy will be have with oil at $10-$20 a gallon? We import everything. Right now our dollar is about 77cents to the Euro. What do you think all those imports are going to cost when the dollar is 5 cents to the Euro?

15. Yeah, we are serious
"...step away from the political races for a time." Are you saying that the Democrats should allow Republicans to run unopposed? You sound very uninformed.

12. Words to ponder...
Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels - men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.

17. It really looks petty in comparison
but meanwhile Peter Jennings asks Clinton what he feels about some RW hack "historians" putting him on a "morality" list behind Nixon.

Hmmm, I see why the Canadians really wouldn't want him back. Oh well, if I go there atleast I don't have to see him.
