You would think that "pro-life" groups would be focussing their efforts on the 36 billion preconceived babies who die every year--a number which dwarves by far the number of post-conception deaths every year. (Which is not to say that abortion of pre-born babies is ever acceptable.)
Instead, they have remained silent--probably because their own members themselves are allowing their own preconceived babies to die bloody, gruesome deaths!
Furthermore, by espousing abstinence and "natural" family planning (what is natural about using sophisticated digital thermometers and charts to avoid pregnancy?), they are directly contributing to the death of countless preconceived babies.
Think about it--how many of the pro-life women of childbearing age are conscientiously keeping themselves pregnant at all times, ensuring that every preconceived child will have a chance at life?
To spare themselves the "inconvenience" of assuming the sacred God-given duty of co-creating new life, and to avoid alienating donors, they have arbitrarily defined life as beginning at conception. Yet the difference between a fertilized pre-conceived baby and an unfertilized one is negligible.
Once again, selfishness and greed triumph. Who will speak for the voiceless?
