Outstanding suggestion on Randi Rhodes Show

One lady said that her form of protest was to honour the US troops by flying her American Flag at half-mast and to show the number of US military dead in a board outside her home.

I think it is a fantastic suggestion and every protestor who has a flagpole should do this to show they honour their troops and yet oppose the Bush Crime family. My suggestion is that you can at the same time show the number of military wounded and the number of Iraqi civilians murdered.

This will show up how much the freepers and Bush and his criminal gang are dishonouring the US troops.

1. That is a good idea

however, I don't think they would put up with me doing that where I live -- a military base. My husband would probably get a "talking-to" from his commander. :)

And we should should how many Iraqis we are "liberating".

Of the mangled children from Iraq on telephone polls, grocery store bulletin boards and at the laundry mats.

They all had the caption underneath: WOULD YOU WELCOME THIS IN AMERICA?

Half were gone by noon and all were gone by 6:30PM

I too heard that woman's suggestion on Randi's show yesterday.

Want to really send your neighborhood Bushies into a tailspin? Add the number of POW's to the list of dead/wounded/murdered displayed next to your half-mast flag.

5. My Dad has a flag pole. He also lives in a retirement village

full of veterans. I wonder if I can talk him into it? The place is full of repukes. Heck, I'll give it a shot. I did ask him if I could put the flag upside down. He didn't go for that one. He voted for Kerry. But he also spent 36 straight months in the Pacific theater in WWII and that flag means the world to him. Literally.

Edited to add: Easy way to do the board. Sadly, use Velcro. Won't take anything to change the numbers. As we'd be doing that on a daily basis the way things are going in Iraq.

6. If you display seasonal/decorative flags in your yard

Hang one that says Peace with a Christmas theme (you know, "Peace on Earth"). You can find a couple at flagsonline.com. For true, blue nastiness. If a Fundamentalist church is unlocked on a Saturday, go inside and slip those pictures of dead or maimed Iraqi children (suitable captions: "By their fruits you shall know them" or "Is this how Jesus wants His country remembered" or "When Jesus said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me,' He didn't exactly have this in mind.") into the hymnals.
