The Presidential Yacht?????
Ok imagine this...It's a nice Sunday morning. I'm up, just had my breakfast and I'm sipping my first diet coke of the day. I decide to hit the internet to see what the world's up to. I start reading more about the $388 Billion Spending Bill that was passed. A lot of programs that I believe in are being cut to the bone or totally thrown out... Then I read this little tid bit from Yahoo......

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Congress on Saturday passed a $388 billion package financing government programs in this fiscal year after days of battling over spending cuts and priorities for programs including foreign aid, energy and a presidential yacht. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=578&e=12&u=/nm/20041121/bs_nm/congress_spending_dc

Ok...I didn't jump to conclusions, I really hate the man but maybe this was somehow legitimate...I did some more investigating and then found this....

A potential boon for Bush himself, $2 million for the government to try buying back the former presidential yacht Sequoia. The boat was sold three decades ago, and its current owners say the yacht is assessed at $9.8 million and are distressed by the provision. http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-cong20.html

No, he's screwing us again.

I know Bush backers will point out that he's trying to save us money by haggling the price down.

1. I wonder how many very important programs got cut by $2 million? How
many kids, sick people, elderly, etc. won't get something they really need but Georgie gets a yacht. We need an important provision that will be cut to contrast with the yacht issue.

2. Jimmy Carter got rid of it
because it was wasteful expenditure when the govt was in debt. Now, Shrub wants it back, probably because other royal families have one.

schools are doing without, wounded soldiers are doing without, nurses at VA hospitals are working longer hours, and the Pampered Pissant Prince wants a fucking yacht? (He probably speeked it "yot" in his memo".)
