Well, Christian DUers....it's ready
I know that a lot of DUers were also members of the Christianity.com forums...but lately they have gotten really right-wing and banned Catholics, homosexuals, Preterists...all kinds of people that matter.

So I have started my own forum (by no means the quality of DU) that a lot of Christianity.com people are going to be moving to. Though the topic is Christianity, everyone is welcome on the new board, and I'm going to work to transfer the post counts of Christianity.com users.

There is a forum for conservatives on my new site...but somehow I doubt they will show up, because it is a free speech forum. Here it is:

http://freechristians.proboards28.com/

PS...Please give me feedback if you join...I'm the admin

If they do, we shall debate them to death!

I responded to your post on the forum...don't worry, it should be pretty easy to pick up :)

By the way, is that your real name? har har

And I like your purple GA avatar - I live there too, N. Fulton Co.

I'll check into it - thanks for setting that up. How else are you going to publicize it, anyway?

9. Hmm...not my real name...haha
I live in Southwest Georgia...JimmyCarterLand.

At this point, it's not going to need a lot of publicity, because a lot of people will be moving from Christianity.com in the next week. They have banned people with certain beliefs from participation there.

If you decide running your own board isn't too much fun, check out the wesites in my Post 10 in this thread.

As far as discussing Christian ideas, I think that Christians should be unafraid of subjecting their (our) ideas to scrutiny. If our beliefs are so fragile that a post from an anonymous person will shake them, well, you're probably not gonna last as a Christian anyway.

15. Oh, I knew that! And I do like your discussion board, too
At least now the others from Christianity.com will have a place to go and discuss their ideas freely. I think it's a great thing to be able to do that, and I agree that questioning our own faith just makes it stronger (otherwise, why participate in a discussion board?).

One big pet peeve that I'm sure to post on your site is how prominent members of the Religious Right (including Bush) are, IMHO, not good representatives of Christianity to onlookers in this country and throughout the world. I may not be that great an example myself, but I also don't hold myself up as one. But don't get me started..!

10. I joined
A couple of other interesting Christian sites are http://www.ship-of-fools.com (ecumenical but run I think by the Methodist Church in England), which is mostly moderate to liberal, and http://www.belief.net which has dozens of forums and is all over the map.

I think it might be exciting to start up a site from the ground floor!

12. Thanks...
Yeah, christianity.com went crazy. They banned discussion on Catholicism, homosexuality, preterism, etc...I think because they were scared that we were winning these discussions.

So we're moving!

14. It is...
a theory of the end times. Basically, Preterism says that all prophecy in Revelations was fulfilled in 70 AD. Other theories say that there's going to be a rapture, etc. and apparently those are more acceptable to the aforementioned website.

What's the opposite of that? The concept that the end times are a-comin'? I forget the word; does it begin with "c"?

I don't have much patience for that kind of talk anyway; there's no reasoning with them.

17. There are 4 main ones...
There is premillennialism, postmillenialism, and amillennialism- the main 3 theories, which are hard to explain.

The 4th is Dispensational Premillennialism, which is what you're talking about not being able to reason with. It's the newest, and the stuff of Left Behind books.

20. Research Suggestions for freechristians
could include reading the Yurica Report at www.yuricareport.org
and Theocracy Watch at www.theocracywatch.org

Every person who claims to be a Christian must keep vigil on the conservative "Dominion Theology" crowd.
