January 30th (which is looking pretty doubtful), why is there any reason to think that the situation will improve anymore than it did after Saddam's capture or the faux-handover of power this summer. There will still be a puppet government with the U.S. calling the shots, the insurgency will continue (and likely worsen), the ruling government will hide in the green zone or risk assassination, reconstruction will continue to falter, and average citizens will live in hell.

At least my children won't have to see Janet Jackson's nipple during the super bowl--and that is what is important!
