Just got off the phone with Rep. Ron Paul's office NFI passed Sat. |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 04:36 PM by Melodybe
That's right folks the New Freedom Initative fucking passed in the Senate on Saturday!
It is now mandatory for states to use federal funding to screen your children for mental disabilities and drug them. It is a precursor for ALL Americans to be tested!
You can call his office yourself, here is the number for the capital hill switch board: 1 800 839 5276
Ask to speak to Rep. Ron Paul.

1. Oh man. What an Orwellian title... |
|
...given the record of this gang, it's neither "New" or an "Initiative" or has anything to do with "Freedom".

2. Wait until our Democrats figure what they just voted for. |

Read it, it is scary. But it sounds good on the surface. It has huge terrifying implications. I want to know who voted for it. http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/newfreedom/

4. Segways for everybody!! |
|
Called on Congress to fund his New Freedom Initiative budget requests, including $145 million for: (1) competitive grants to provide additional transportation services for Americans with disabilities, increasing their access to the job market; and (2) a pilot program to demonstrate innovative solutions for transportation problems that prevent many people with disabilities from living more independently.

6. No more homebound Medicare folks! |
|
We'll fix them.
Announced a clarification of Medicare policy to ensure that people with severe disabilities considered "homebound" under Medicare home health requirements are able to leave their homes occasionally without the risk of losing their Medicare coverage
Read between the lines. They are not prevented from leaving their homes now. In other words, they will work in spite of severe disabilties.

Now will people stop saying "I didn't see it on Fox News it can't be true." But there will always be those that would even deny it after the drugs have been shoved down their throats.

Every child left behind is so grossly underfunded, why do you think the states will suddenly have the money to do this screening?

If I had a kid, there's no way in hell I'd let anyone from the government test them for mental illness!

They'll find some way to ram it in, break it off and tell us that "it's good for you!"

19. They'll set aside an hour |
|
or so during the school day for children to take the test. Then when they move to the general population, you'll have to find time to take the test. Maybe it will come with your census form or maybe you'll have to attach a copy of your results with your tax returns. They'll find a way, if we don't stop them now!!

no one is taking parental rights away. As so many have said, read it. It clearly says that only kids who need care will be screened.
I think you guys are making too much of this. And I see it as a positive step in solving a big problem of inadequate care for the mentally ill.

The link to the 'New Freedom Initiative" posted above refers to a bill passed in 2001 I believe

Have you read the bill? Could you please find where it says it is mandatory for states to drug your children without your permission?
Loons...I spend all day arguing about how Dems are more reasonable and logical than our political opponents...and then I read these lunatic rants and I can argue no more!

18. I just got off the phone with Republican State Representative Ron Paul |
|
office and it was confirmed, I am calling other senators as we speak.
Since when do we get to see all the legislation, I thought Cheney's energy commision meetings should be open to the public too, but alas that is not the case.
With the number of republican parents that will go apeshit about this, why do you think that they would make it main stream media story?

23. does the word "eugenics" ring a bell? . . . |
|
given that this is a Bush administration initiative, it's scary as hell . . . the eugenics movement has a prominent place in Bush family history, and who's to say what they'll end up calling a "mental illness?" . . . how long before they include homosexuality? . . . and what will be the prescribed treatment? . . .
call your Congressman and Senators tomorrow! . . . this is something that needs to be stopped before it gets started . . .
