I posted about this before:
I have been sitting here, all day, working on a couple of dynamic websites. One, a commercial site and one, a website for my candidate. When I do so, I have my police scanner on, if for no other reason than background noise. I can receive for approx. a 100 mile radius, but the radius I listen to is about 40-50 miles, give or take, heavily weighted towards Northwestern NJ and Lehigh,Northampton and Monroe counties in PA.

Tonight has been a bad, bad night. Why? 4 attempted suicides between 6:00pm and now.

The worst part is that the actors ages ranged between the mid-twenties to mid-thirties. That is the time of one's life that one's world should be their oyster. I am afraid, though, that right now, the reality is much different.

In this area, we have been hit very hard by unemployment. Much harder than what is reported as the national average(Lies. All friggin' lies). In fact, there are very few jobs. The ones that are there DO NOT come close to paying a wage that allows one to cover the action necessary to live in this area.

This is just the count for tonight. Believe me when I tell you, the number of attempts just keep rolling onward, ever onward. Not a week goes by that there isn't several. The age group referenced above is strongly represented. The ones that aren't trying the quick ticket punch have other outlets: Heroin Abuse rages in the area. Lots of it around, easy to get, cheap, plentiful. Cheaper than weed. Lots of really young people using it.

Chimpy is missing a great opportunity. He could get a memorable slogan and tell the truth by framing his administration with these words:

"It's Twilight in America".

1. It's sad when anybody feels so hopeless that they
want to take their life. I really do think about the surplus Clinton left and how it could have been used to make each American life better, but I guess that is water under the bridge now and we have to concentrate on taking our country back.

2. A rather morose practice
If one wants to listen to police scanners, there will be many disturbing stories. It's the police's line of business, after all.

I suppose one could also read obits every day too, if looking for negativity.

4. Perhaps.
But it works for me. It dispells a lot of illusions.

3. Horrendous, just horrendous
Eternity isn't long enough for Bush to rot in hell.
