Jeanne and Sam on Majority Report |
|
said that this Friday, Nov. 26, is a no shop day. And asked the everyone not purchase anything.
Sounds good to me.

3. the Sequoia? It's the prez yacht that was retired a few years ago |
|
(I believe - I'm not listening to MajReport at the moment) and as part of the massive Omnibus bill that just passed, there was a provision for $2 million to be spent on putting the Sequoia back in service for bush's use.

Every prez needs a f***ing yacht, of course, even if the people can't afford to fill up their cars' tanks with gas....

7. I'm sure kerry would give bush rides on the one kerry bought with... |
|
HIS OWN MONEY. (remember, the rethugs told us the fact kerry had a yacht showed he was an elite, not just someone who could spend his own money the way he wanted)
if bush wants a boat, he can buy it himself.

8. Carter was the last president to use the Sequoia |
|
and he ended up selling it because it was a huge expense and inappropriate for a servant of the people. Presidents since Carter have rented time from the company that bought the yacht for special functions, but the day to day maintenance was out of taxpayer hands.
Enter the Little Emperor, who wants a big party boat just like the one the Queen of England has, by gum, 'causse he's so damn important, and who is getting it put on the registry of histoical places (not that any citizen will be allowed near it to tour it unless they're hired to clean up after the partying bigwigs).
The taxpayer, as usual, will be stuck footing the huge bills for upkeep.

I was planning to finally buy a grown-up bed and stop sleeping on a torture-rack futon! I guess I can wait until Saturday. x(
