DU is frustrating

or those who post on here are frustrating. So often I read a post saying Edwards, Kerry or whoever is on CNN, C-Span or whatever network now- watch. Please remember not everyone on DU is on the same time zone or are reading the posts at that time. Some of us do not bother with the TV. If you post something like that please make comments what you are observing so we know what is happening otherwise you are wasting your time and space here. Just a thought....

1. You can also check the upper right corner for the time of post.

That should tell you what time in your time zone that the post was made.

Seriously, I completely agree with you and have been ranting about the same pointless throwaway posts for close to a year now. Some people just think we're all Karnak the Magnificent.

3. I love those posts.

I do. Most of them are east coast time zone. I am more toward the LEFT of the nation. So, I get a few hours of notice before must-see stuff is on. But that's just me.

Oh, but I believe that Cspan is real-time.... what's playing at noon in the east, is playing at 9a in the west.

I'm four hours behind the rest of the country. Some of the stations here are running on Eastern time. I have to watch "The Simpsons" on Sunday at 4pm.

5. You pay attention to those posts?

I don't have cable, so if it ain't on CBS, and i'm not home, I can't see it.

So I don't worry about it. It's like "So who's pissed there's no hockey?" threads. I'm not, so I don't bother with them.

Gotta tighten up the filters sometimes, y'know...

It IS kind of inconsiderate to post something like that without at least giving a little bit of background or context.

9. You're not the first

to complain about that. The admin and mods tried to clamp down on that for a while, but it's pretty much a waste of time. Too many people want to be the first person to post something and fluff their ego.
