9. This site is dangerously addictive.
I think we all feel so persecuted when we go out the door into Jesusland that we need to retreat back to the reality-based society on a regular basis. At least, that's how I feel about it.

And while the political discussions here are interesting, to me this is a news site. I can't find out what's actually going on in the MSM.

10. DU has become a central repository for virtually everything . . .
that is happening on the net . . . if it's posted somewhere and it's of importance or of interest, it will generally find it's way to a DU thread -- and usually sooner rather than later . . . rather than having to monitor scores of other websites and blogs, I just monitor the "Latest" posts on DU and follow the links in threads of interest . . . keeps me right up to date on things . . .

11. Yeah, like heroin...
Yes, this place is definitely addictive. I have to fight the urge at work, and I've never really had to do that with anything. Now I don't have to look like I'm slacking by talking to my fellow Democrats at work. I can sit at my desk and read and discuss issues!

I'm afraid Z-mag is more to my leanings.
Sometimes I wonder when people think Dems should be more centrists.
GD America has 2 Rightwings and people want to be more Centrist! What pray thee is the Center between Fascism and Corporatism! Berlisconi, Mussulini?
Just asking.
