1. You'll have to wait for a while once he does get back...
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 12:07 AM by NinetySix
...since He'll be going right away to the Temple. Seems the moneychangers have set up shop again. Is He EVER gonna be pissed.

5. How dare you insult Jesus and his Free Market Gospel!
You know what is strange to me? People here make no distinction between Democracy and Free Trade. They're mixed together in the public consciousness. Same with Jesus.

If you could make a map of the typical American's thoughts, with important ideas layed out like cities, with roads between them... then Free Trade, Democracy, and Jesus would be streets in the same city. A few miles down the road you'd find Entertainment Land. That's where Scott and Laci Peterson live.

6. Would Jesus wear a rolex ?
Woke up this mornin', turned on the t.v. set.
there in livin' color, was somethin' I can't forget.
This man was preachin' at me, yeah, layin' on the charm
askin' me for twenty, with ten-thousand on his arm.
He wore designer clothes, and a big smile on his face
sellin' me salvation while they sang Amazin' Grace.
Askin' me for money, when he had all the signs of wealth.
I almost wrote a check out, yeah, then I asked myself

Would He wear a pinky ring, would He drive a fancy car?
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds, would His dressin' room have a star?
If He came back tomorrow, well there's somethin' I'd like to know
Could ya tell me, Would Jesus wear a Rolex on His television show.

Would Jesus be political if He came back to earth?
Have His second home in Palm Springs, yeah, and try to hide His worth?
Take money, from those poor folks, when He comes back again,
and admit He's talked to all them preachers who say they been a talkin' to Him?

10. Well a course he did, don't you watch TV?
He had lots of money stashed away in investment accounts. What do you think the parable of the talents was about? It was investment brokerage advice!

So what if the Bible condemns collecting an interest rate on money?

Some people need to quit reading their danged Bibles and start listening to Pat Robertson more. Then they'll learn about the real Jesus, not that hippy liberal commie what gave away money and hung out with hookers in the Bible.

And when he chased them money changers from the temple, that was just proof that Jesus got mad and used violence against liberals and Iraqis and stuff, it had nothing to do with no money.
