Boycotting "Clear Channel" stations for W Billboard in Orlando
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 07:26 AM by nytemare
I contacted a local talk radio show with a clear thinking host, Jim Phillips. The Orlando station is owned by Clear Channel. I let him know that I will not listen to any Clear Channel radio until the sign is removed and an apology is issued for calling such a sign "a political public service".

Until I see some sort of response from Clear Channel and a removal of the "Fuhrer" sign, I will encourage everyone I know to boycott their stations, and send similar letters to their local hosts.

3. I like the "Phillips Phyle", the guy speaks his mind
He went off the Wednesday or Thursday after election, calling it a "victory for stupid people".

But I will not listen to it until the sign is down, now.

4. I haven't stopped boycotting CC since the Dixie Chicks melee...
...two years ago.

That said, the billboard with Bush on it is offensive. Could you imagine such a thing with President Clinton? Or President Kerry?

5. I can't imagine a billboard with ANY president
Simply due to the history of countries that have billboards and posters of their leaders hanging everywhere.

Communist and Fascist dictatorships do this kind of stuff.

Leader in German is "Fuhrer".

Please folks, just spread the word to people you do know who would boycott. This billboard has taken it too far!

7. Are the big crossed swords due to be installed on Washington's
PA. Ave like they were in Baghdad! I'll bet shrub saved those big swords in case he stole the election! He forgets that "Dicktaters" wind up in hidey holes! I'll bet Jeb approved those signs!

I posted on that billboard before the election. I was driving by and almost had a wreck.

10. how can I get this bumped by the moderators?
This kind of stuff needs to get out there. If Clear Channel loses ratings, they will have to adjust their billboards..lol.

11. The great contradiction
Air America in San Diego is carried by a clear channel station.
Since this is the only station left of Attilla the Hun, I can't boycott...

13. Since the election isn't over
Shouldn't those ads be considered campaign contrabutions?

Maybe we should file complaints with the FEC and our local election officials?
