Affidavit of Good Moral Character |
|
I played in my first competitive softball game for Cross Hollow elementary school against Cedar Bluffs elementary school at the age of 7. If I recall correctly we went undefeated in both the fall season and the spring season. Not bad for a school of 12, located on the corner of my fathers cattle farm.
After 55 years of playing, coaching, and umpiring up to the college level, and finally for health reasons scorekeeping just to go to the parks and see the games, it is time to hang up the spikes.
Yesterday I received in the mail a form for a police background check for the city of Clearwater Parks Department, and an Affidavit of Good Moral Character from the Florida Department of Children and Families, to be completed and notorized or else I won't be allowed to participate as an umpire or scorekeeper after January 1, 2005.
I think I can better spend that time working for Jim Davis for Governor in 06, and to reelect Senator Nelson in 06. As yet, they haven't questioned my moral character.

1. Apparently, you just can't appreciate the game at your age. |

I feel badly that this has happened to you.
