If CBS is smart, they will change the format of their nightly news |
|
make it a full hour, with the second half as a ONE topic, in depth story. They could get some worthwhile information out to the public.. 30 minutes on healthcare, the war, congressional legislation, etc would be a draw. and it might encourage others to do it as well.. They could have 2 guests, equally matched and give each one 10 minutes each..uninterrupted.. The remaining 10 minutes would be guestless.. a re-cap with pros & cons..
That would be my suggestion for the name of the segment.. "Pros & Cons"...

goal of the fourth estate, what the hell are YOU THINKING?
No I expect them to appoint a RIGHW WING TOOL as the anchor and to try to outfox, well FOX

There's no way that the local affiliates would give up their 6:00 PM Central spot for local news. The half hour after 6 PM local news broadcasts generates lots of ad revenue, especailly when they air syndicated TV series like Friends or Seinfeld.

They need to get out of the way in time for the local news. Followed (in Houston) by Wheel of Fortune.
Besides, I don't think losing Rather as anchor indicates they're going to be taking news more seriously. Probably just the opposite.
