Business Ethics in Schools (and I ain't talkin' about classes)
HELENA - Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Fred Thomas, R-Stevensville, has come up with a way to raise the average teacher salary in Montana from 47th in the nation without spending any more state money.

While Thomas isn't heralding his solution as the final answer to the state's problem of school funding, he said his idea bears legislative examination. Basically, his plan calls for the state to eliminate between 800 and 1,700 teaching positions and then spread those salary savings among the remaining teachers.

==========

Wow. Education reform. Yay. Way to put one or two thousand people back in the unemployment lines.

1. Well...
...at least the money may go back to the teachers. I just wish that repubs cared a little about anyone else.

6. If this went down, I'm guessing
MAYBE 2% of the money would go back into education, be it teacher salaries, books and equipment, or whatever. The other 98% would be suddenly needed for "unexpected expenses". New Durangos are expensive.

And my son may be attending Montana State-Billings in two years. Will there be anything left?

4. That fucking Neo-con POS
That guy is a sore spot for any real Montanan. He's tried this shit before, and figures he will make one last stab before his ass gets the boot. Anytime you see a guy from Stevensville or Hamilton, you run. Unless you like the taste of feces.
