"Bush Beat Kerry but He Didn't Beat Me" |
|
was the name of a recent MoveOn party held in Washington state.
In my case, the statement isn't true.
John Kerry is still a US Senator.
I'm just an ordinary guy who wasted the past year of his life trying to get Democrats elected.
Almost every single Democrat I supported lost. My support included donations, my blog, online fundraising, canvassing, and more.

you don't seem like an ordinary guy to me. you seem exactly like someone who wants to make a difference, but is being failed by the system.
the system, flooded with a million dollars of corporate cash for ever man-hour you put in, doesn't work anymore. back to the grassroots, back to crafting a party on a local level (dems, greens, whatever) that can act locally and think globally.
hang in there. explore your options. take time to understand the important lessons learned this year. but don't, whatever you do, drop off the radar screen.
things are different here in MA. often, even democrats you don't support get elected. still, i think i can empathize with others around the country who are feeling dispirited. i certainly have expressed my own disgust about what i perceive as the fetal positioning of the DNC since the election.
"get out of the weay if you can't lend a hand...."
that was some guy from MN, wasn't it?

running ads within 60 days of the election, but the Swift Boat Liars' 527 ran ads through the day of the election.

6. after the election I did everything stereoptypically liberal... |
|
...and on purpose - my own personal "I'm true blue and I'm proud" moment. I had a dinner party with all my fabulous liberal friends. We are straight and gay, and come in all shades of skin tones. We ate good food, drank good wine, discussed many issues, had some good 'ol liberal elite classical music on in the background, - regrettably we didn't have any weed - that would have fit the "mold" perfectly.
The point being, I am bound and determined to do everything the way I did before, and then some. My life, on a personal basis anyways, will not be changed by the outcome of this election. The red staters and bushco can kiss my libby buttocks.
As I said to one of my friends - the arch of history ALWAYS provides for justice. In the end we will prevail. I know it.

Thanks Zidzi...and happily blue and always will be too. These people deserve what they get. It defies logic for the regular folk of the red to vote repub - especially W. A few sound bites and they're good to go I guess. The thinking is a mile wide and an inch deep.

That being said. We can't play their game anymore because they cheat. We are gonna have to go after them legally, in court, anyway we can to impeach and indict as many of them as we can. There are still liberal judges and honest judges out there who can stop their trainwreck. This is how we will fight our next civil war.

there may be a handful of election officials who may face justice, none on any state level. No state level official will be charged, no electronic company will be found guilty of fraud or negligence. We have to deal with the situation as is.

16. I know exactly how you feel, buddy. |

Regarding this, I mean:
<<Almost every single Democrat I supported lost. My support included donations, my blog, online fundraising, canvassing, and more.>>
I could've used the cash I donated to the DNC for something more direct and immediate, like going toward long-postponed car repairs or a new computer. But I figured with such an important election coming up, I could spare some money for the Dems, particularly now that I finally had a job that paid a living wage. Then now I find out that Kerry, who spinelessly conceded mere hours after the polls closed, is still sitting on $15 million of campaign cash!
Hey, John?! Don't you think you could have done something more constructive with that $15 million, like--oh I don't know--USING IT TO DEFEAT BUSH ON NOVEMBER 2ND?! :grr::nuke::argh:
