Spend Blue this Holiday Season |

Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 09:27 PM by jaysunb
Here is a very interesting list of major corporations and their political donations. It may be a good idea to continue to vote with our wallets. http://www.choosetheblue.com/main.php

That is only the store I support. Eddie Basha ran for governor a few years ago. He is so proeducation and a great community supporter. The prices are higher there but.....I'll pay the higher price because of his support.
Phoenix people-- didn't Basha run against Mecham or the puke governor that eventually became a chef?
I'm having a senior moment.

Toyota New United Motor Manufacturing 74%(dems) 26%(reps) $5,587 $1,963 None Known
So I'm happy to see Toyota in the blue. We ordered it knowing it wouldn't get here until after January, thinking it would fall under Kerry's admin. Oh, well maybe a miracle will happen yet.

Makes sense that an environmentally conscious co. like Toyota would be blue. What a contrast w/Ahnuuld and his Hummers--the opposite end of the auto spectrum (I live in California so can't escape the fawning press over the gropenator).

if it's anything like ours or my brother's. So you're not only buying Blue; you're being fiscally conservative in doing so!
I hope you are enjoying it.

I can't tell you how many VERY liberal friends I have who have shopped at Target for years.
I just emailed them to say no Target shopping this Christmas season for me.

12. No more Target for us |
|
Last week we spent over $500 at Costco, but out of habit and convenience bought paper towels and toilet paper the next day at Target. No more. We'll add those to our Costco list next time.
That's a good site. I went through every page, making notes. It's weird though, to see Fox and Fox News listed as Blue. I'd like to know what's up with that.

Somthing has to be wrong there. it says that Fox, Fox News, Fox Sports, and Fox Tel all gave 68% Dem and 32% to the repugs.
Very bizarre. Debbi

gave 93% to Dems. That is where I am shopping this year.
I am going to copy my receipts & mail them with a letter to the red companies. Telling them you are boycotting them may not phase them as much as the cold, hard evidence.
I am in the middle of redecorating right now. So far I have $4k+ worth of Bed,Bath and Beyond receipts to mail J.C. Penney & Sears.

red states seem overrun with these red corporations! In our small city, we have the choice of WalMart or WalMart. Guess we'll have to look into the small businesses, which is better anyway. Anyone know how to check into political contributions of small businesses?

24. Impotrant to let blue businesses know WHY you support them! |
|
I've so far only told red businesses why I'm not buying from them.
But it's almost MORE important to let the blues know WHY you are supporting them instead.

If you're only letting the RED companies know why you're buying where you are, you're only doing half the job.

fair trade/even exchange market in your community. There are lovely gifts that really support the indigenous peoples of other countries who actually make the items.
We don't buy holiday gifts at all for each other but I'm sending my neice and nephew fair trade gifts and CD's that are purchased directly from the artists and not the corporate labels.
