Does anyone else find this racist? (From RNC website)

This "political cartoon" (actually a mediocre caricature) supposedly mocks the Democratic primary candidates. Fine. But will someone tell me why Al Sharpton looks like one of those 1920's "Jim Crow", blackface-type things? It's kind of eery. What with those giant lips and bulging eyes. It strikes me as downright racist.

Also, Wes Clark looks more like Ross Perot in this cartoon. Just sayin'.

It was probably drawn by some waspy white guy. Wants to send a 'message' to the white, G-d fearing suburban, upper middle class types....guys in button down shirts, kakhis and loafers that joined fraternities, got jobs from older frat brothers and married safe sorority types.

And even after that, I'm not convinced. To do something racist requires intent, and frankly all I see is a decent illustrator who's not a good caricaturist.

A caricature is a caricature. It's sole purpose is to exaggerate physical (facial, e.g.) features.

I love the Kucinich one. Notice how he is the only one not shown squabbling.
