Who said it?
"Parallel to the training of the body a struggle against the poisoning of the soul must begin. Our whole public life today is like a hothouse for sexual ideas and simulations. Just look at the bill of fare served up in our movies, television and theaters, and you will hardly be able to deny that this is not the right kind of food, particularly for the youth...Theater, art, literature, cinema, press, posters, and window displays must be cleansed of all manifestations of our rotting world and placed in the service of a moral, political, and cultural idea."

I admit to changing one word. I'll tell you what the one word was AFTER someone correctly guesses who said it.

5. Dang, you guys are too good.
Yes, I changed Vaudeville to Television to make it less dated, and yes, It was Adolf Hitler in Mien Kampf (chapter 10).

But is sure sounds like the work of 'Focus On The Family's' annual statement, don't it?

I would have taken hours to come up with the correct answer and it was here in seconds.

Is there a "DU for Dummies" forum? I could use it.

11. and I ...
am a former West Newtonian ...

there's a bunch of Ashland people trying to "grow" a local chapter of an organization called Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts ... so far, there's only about 10 or 15 of us ... very interesting group of people ...

there's probably a group nearer to Newton but if you and or your friends are interesting in attending our next meeting, let me know ... it would be great having another DU'er there ...

here's their website: http://www.progressivedems.org/
