So, we can deal with and be friends with the largest communist nation on
earth (China) and not deal with but seek to impoverish the people of the smallest, non-threatening communist nation (Cuba) right in our own back yard? What kind of sick sense does this make? And to be proud of tightening the knoose around the necks of the suffering Cuban people as an act of great leadership is an historical sick, sick notion.

People, we need to work hard to rid this nation of the people whose greed and bigotry threatens the entire world. I don't care if it means registering Republican, we must defeat those evil Republicans now controlling our Congress and state houses.

1. The only
reason Cuba is treated the way it is is to appeal the Cuban voters in FL who are anti-Castro

5. Right. Gotta have the scary man to point at. Always good for x
number of votes.

Besides, if we fixed our problems with Cuba, all the Cubans might go back to Cuba, and then what would happen to the Repuke voting base in S. Florida? It might be enough to make Florida swing blue.

2. Our government it not friends with China
Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 12:00 AM by bullimiami
We are using them and they are using us. An incestuous standoff with the governments jockeying for position while some powerful companies clean up on the backs of the working and poor of both.

As far as the cubans go, a certain group of them hate kennedy with such vitriol that they will never vote democratic. they blame the democrats for the loss of cuba when the fact is they lost it themselves by acting just like our government is now, corrupt and pandering to the powerful and wealthy. a powerful group among them are soul brothers of the neocons in thought and deed. But remember the 'powerful' cubans cant even win miami-dade county let alone a national election...miami-dade has gone democratic since 92. if they cant even win their home county how powerful should they be really?

7. China
What is interesting here is that slowly, very slowly, China is becoming the more and more Capitalist!
I don’t know if they will ever be a True Democracy, but the way China is going, just imagine a country with over a Billion (1,000,000,000) people with only the Democratic Party in control!

In case nobody is watching, there are several Chinese millionaires living over there.

4. There are "bad" Capitalist nations there are "Bad" Communist...
...nations too. Something which we all forget.

However China has become a State Capitalist nation, not in any way shape or form Socialist or even Communist, there is no democracy amongst those who provide the labor. It's State Capitalism which fucks the average joe over there just like Democratic Capitalism fucks him here.

6. If Hugo Chavez continues with his radical social-democratic reforms...
empowering the poor, and spreading justice throughout the region, Venezuela may just take Cuba's place as America's favourite whipping boy in the Americas.
