Anyone who leaves America loses my respect.
America needs you. Please stay.

If you're not happy where you live, move within America. Don't take your sane vote out of the country (unless you can vote absentee!)

Even if you can vote absentee, your efferts are needed in America.

Now is a golden time. Bush and his ilk have gained solid control of both houses. The nation will now see what unbridled rule by these idiots really entails.

America has been seeing it for four years, but a campaign of lies and confusion by republicans fooled enough Americans into believing all the chimp falsehoods. The next four years will serve as sweet hindsight, and 2008 will be a time for reckoning.

Hell....2006 will be a time for reckoning.

So if you leave, then I hope you will stay active online and vote. Then you keep my respect.
If you are tempted or planning to leave and decide to stay, thankyou.

8. Cha.
It was locked because I facetiously expressed a hope that people should die. I will be careful not to joke in this one.

9. This isn't LBN, sport.
The last thread was locked in case you didn't notice, so keep waiting.

Your attitude makes me unwilling to persue your post in the other thread, so post it again or....keep waiting.

3. Not to sound harsh
but I'd sacrifice a lot more than your respect to get out of this country.

BTW - My desire to set up roots in a more suitable country long pre-dates the disastrous Bush presidency.

11. I realize my respect isn't a concern to you. But...
perhaps I'm emblematic of a pattern.
In any event, you have to do what you feel is right in spite of what anyone thinks. I respect you for that.

4. If I leave
it will be a decision based on my two sons of which one has a disability. I'm not sure this will be the best place for him after the conversion (or fall) to the "ownership" society. If it were just me, I would stay and still may but I have to watch events and my kids are my greatest purpose at this point. Failing them makes me a failure.

12. Watching out for family gets my respect!
Family comes first in my book. Hopefully you can find a location in the USA that accomodates your needs.

6. I understand
It would be horrible to run away and let the bastards in power get away with what they're doing without trying to change things. Their actions affect the whole world, and last I checked, we can't emmigrate to the moon just yet :-(

10. As a gay American with a transgendered partner
I'll fight as an ex-pat and cast my (uncounted) vote from abroad if I have to keep my partner and I safe and alive.

There are people who will have to stay and people who would do better fighting from afar. The truth is that almost all of us will be stuck here (except for the very wealthiest among us) anyway. So divisive threads like this aren't really necessary.

13. Respect?
I work for the State of Florida, and I'm gonna worry about respect? Ha! Unless we get a way of verifying votes there is little reason to stay.
Well, I mean considering that the dollar may be worth about 50-60 cents against the rest of the worlds currency if current trends continue.
So we can't afford to leave.
Strange bit of irony there, eh?

14. I'd say the current focus on vote verification is going to lead to that.
It's coming. There won't be another paperless unverified unexamined electronic vote fiasco, I guarantee it.

doubt it. They were probably saying the same kinda things right after 2000's election. "we won't let it happen again"
