New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson ruled himself out of the 2004 Vice Presidential sweepstakes saying, "I'm very firm." and is committed to running for re-election as Governor in 2006.
I think he would have been a big plus on the ticket with his strong record and being the first Latino nominated, but it sounds like he is firm.

2. I agree, he's for sure the real thing; very good on his feet. |

And very shrewd in his argument. Plenty of other talent available though, without risking a dem governor. Be careful with the Senators, too.

3. It would look bad on him |

If he ran after only serving two years as governor. I think he'll be the man in 2012, or god forbid, 2008. He just needs some more executive experiance, then he'd be unstopable.
