It's St. Jude's Hospital Anniversary. |
|
I'm trying to find their website. They have the neatest T-shirts for sale. They are black with "HOPE" written in rhinestones across the front. I think I will give them for XMAS presents.
St. Judes's is such a great place. When they started 4% of children with leukemia survived. Now 84% survive.
And they take any child - no matter if the family can't afford the treatment.
It's kind of a bright spot in our right now very depressed psyche.

1. It has done a lot for many families. |

This is what taking care of one another is about. It is about taking care of one another no matter what someone can afford. I am thankful for places like St. Jude and the Shriners.

3. Thanks - I found the one with the shirts |

I just took care of xmas. Isn't on-line shopping great for people who hate crowds.
I don't like to buy things that people will just put in a drawer and forget. If they decide to put these t's in a drawer at least my donation will have helped. Besides I like this shirt. I really like sparkly things.

And I love the fact that their models are survivors of leukemia themselves. :hi:

5. It's hard for me to find who I want to give to. There are |

so many that don't use the money well. And some are just crooks. But I have always had a soft spot for St. Jude's. They have helped so many children and their families.
Marlo Thomas was on TV yesterday. She looks about 40 now. I think I'm just jealous.
Have you heard the story about Danny Thomas and St. Jude's? I don't know if it is a myth or not. But its a great story.
He was down and out and went into a church to pray. I can't remember the whole thing now - but he prayed to St. Jude and told him that he would always remember his promise to him. A man met him outside the church and told him that things were going to get better. And they did.
So Danny Thomas started St. Jude's Hospital. St. Jude is the patron St. of the Hopeless. Because I am hopeless, St. Jude has always been my favorite, too.
