Finally a democracy that works KICK THE moderates OUT of Both parties!
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 01:11 AM by AnIndependentTexan
We already know the republicans want to kick moderates out of the republican party so why not let them? Then the moderates from the democratic party can be kicked out too so that they can form their own party. That way we would have a THREE PARTY SYSTEM. The Left, The Middle, and The Right!

1. Who would win in that scenario,
since more people consider themselves to be moderate than liberal or conservative?

3. America?
I doubt it could really happen because the parties are so strong, but it could be fun to watch.

5. DU wouldn't win. The moderates would probably win,
and DEAR GOD, how we hate moderates here. :)

2. The moderates then form coalitions with the left and right
Until we're back where we started.

:)

4. Or... you *do* get a moderate party,
and then the right-leaning moderates try to kick the left-leaning moderates out. Or the left-leaning moderates try to kick the right-leaning moderates out. Then - ouila! - you have not two, not three, but five parties: the Conservatives, the Liberals, the Moderates, the Kinda Liberal Moderates, and the Kinda Conservative Moderates.

I like this game! Let's play some more! :D

6. I think to get a real shakeup of government
We need to sneak in some real shakeups in the economy and in the accepted wisdom of the average voter. I don't know that drawing new lines around the same hundred people is going to do much in the way of real change.

So just tell me how to enact those real shakeups, and I'll get right on it.

:dunce:

8. It begins, I'm sorry to say, by casting anyone out of the party
whose views do not exactly match yours.

So, you can form the Jpgray Party. And I'll form the Elperromagico Party. And so help me, I will beat you in the general election. :D

9. But there are yet more schisms to be had
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 01:24 AM by jpgray
Evening jpgray, for example, sets unreasonable and impossible tasks for morning jpgray to accomplish. My right and left brains would never caucus together, and don't get me started on the epic disagreements involving my two heads.

:silly:

11. The Elperromagico Party is united.
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 01:29 AM by elperromagico
I can guarantee that at least 93% of elperromagico will vote for the elperromagico candidate. And I could probably get my girlfriend and family members to vote for the elperromagico candidate too.

So, with about 150,000,000 candidates, I would win with... well, 0% of the vote. That's a mandate, man.

7. Version 2.
The ultra-liberals kick out the less liberal. The ultra-conservatives kick out the less conservative.

Look Ma! I just made two new parties.

Our current lineup:

The Very Liberal Party
The Liberal Party
The Kinda Liberal Moderate Party
The Moderate Party
The Kinda Conservative Moderate Party
The Conservative Party
The Very Conservative Party

Oh, and I'll add one more: The Very Silly Party. :silly:

10. being a moderate
this is how i have always seen it. screw the two extremes, wink (i say with a huge smile)...........and lets have third party go down the middle. we would win everytime. more center than either extreme. and we would get our third party, and it wouldnt just take from one party............leaving the other to always win
