Ashcroft vs. Raich - the Case name says it all
Goliath vs. David.

The Pharisee vs. the weak.

The man of privilege and ill-gained power vs the law-abiding, sick citizen begging for mercy.

The Repuke who would protect a Pharm company from lawsuits against a Vioxx, who would harm the public by supporting an administration that releases dangerous, untested drugs into the society versus a sick woman asking that she be allowed to choose - as an adult- the herbal or medical treatment that works best for her, and who asks only that she not be demonized for seeking release.

The hypocrite Ashcroft who lauds and protects Rush Oxyconton Limbaugh vs the mother who only wants to live.

The Justice head who loves incarceration, who despises mercy, who believes Jesus is a cruel son-of-a-bitch ( and who is determined to emulate the cruelest sons of bitches ever to live on the planet) versus the common citizen, who doesn't need Asscroft to be her daddy or her preacher or her jailer.

Hey John. Message from God:

I DESIRE MERCY, NOT SACRIFICE.. ( Now, John. Your view of things doesn't square with God's. How about that?)

1. The religous nutbags want sick people to wring every bit of misery
out of life. If they could ban painkillers for cancer patients, they would. If they could end anesthesia during surgery, they would. Pain is god's will. Never mind that god gave us the poppy to help us deal with pain.

I think they should all go first, as an experiment. We can see how well it works with them over the next 50 years or so and then decide.

6. A neighbor who is a hospice nurse
told me last week that up to 80% of nursing home patients die in pain. The numbers are large for cancer sufferers as well. Why? Lack of mercy, and a Puritanical need to overly control the populace. Sad.
VERY Un-Christian. Jesus ain't happy with Mr. Ashcroft right now.

2. If the rumors that he has pancreatic cancer are true
he's gonna find out just how much pain his God is capable of shelling out. As far as I know, there is no cure or pancreatic cancer. I'm hoping he suffers a long agonizing illness.

5. you're right. it is mean
I just remember watching my grandfather die from this agonizing disease when I was little. Nothing could be done then and I still don't think much can be done today. As far as the meanness goes... I'm tired of playing nice with these hypocrites.

7. Oh, but he'll have the best care, the sonof a bitch
What he calls a sin in others- the desire for pain relief - he will call his own entitlement. He will have the best drugs and doctoring available, unlike those of us who are uninsured.

4. This isn't only the religious right objecting to this one.
There were 2 guests on cspan this morning...one was a backer of the states rights option and keeping the feds out of it, the other was an attorney fighting for the feds.

The atty. was screaming that keeping the feds out will cause a total loss of control in the war on drugs. If someone can grow up to 6 pounds of MJ for personal use, there would be not way to make sure some wasn't distributed to others.

His whole argument was based on the "war on drugs", not the RW agenda. The guest who was FOR states rights tried to explaine that we have lost the war on drugs already, and all these objectors do is deny the opportunity for comfort to the very ill.

I'll be interested to see how SCOTUS handles this. I really think it could go either way.

8. Oh, they do like their wars
The sad fact is, the most dangerous facet of marijuana is the law against it.

Alcohol and Tobacco are gateway drugs, yet the lobbies for cigs and liquor keep them selling, keep them taxed.

Selling MJ would relieve our debt in a few years.

But the Puritanical sicko wack-jobs get hardons over their "Wars." They like the death threats and the blood and the incarceration and the prison torture that goes with their fun little Wars. Oh yeah, and that asset siezure stuff doesn't hurt. It's always a blast to shake down the common citizen!

Compassionate Conservatives murdering and pillaging in the name of their god.

11. The madness of king george
As we get closer to the coronation, the whackjobs are at it, attacking civil
rights and abusing the law as a tool of heavy handed repression.

Asskroft will surely suffer for his next million lifetimes. I'm
sure he'll die a slow and painful death, to discover, at the end,
that he was not on god's side afterall... oops... dropped the biggest
football in life, for some petty evil on the side... fool.

12. That's what I think, too, Sweetheart
I believe that most all of those pasty White Theocrats are gonna have one more chance to get right with their maker or the Universe or Mother Earth or whatever it is that gave them the gift of life, and if they choose to be honored by men more than forgiven by their creator, they will each die a terror-filled, excruciatingly painful death. May it be so. They have harmed too many people with their sickness...
