1. My sister's BF has a son was discharged early in the onslaught

of Iraq. They tried to get him back, now he is laying low (hiding) and the Gov can't reach him.

To a story about a Gulf War vet who discharged all his responsibilities to the military (including his status as "inactive reserve") in 1996, but got called up again this year. He sued the govt. and they backed off.

I have heard tales of others, but I don't think it is being well-publicized yet. There was a story on DU last week about somebody's 62 year old friend (relative?) who was a Lt. Colonel in Vietnam, not in reserve or inactive duty or anything like that, who got called up last month. Maybe try looking in the archives?

and look up i think it is IRR and it will tell you information and go to the veterans board and there is other information and web sites.
Hope this helps. I was worried that I would be called back up but I'm think that i'm safe after reading all the information.
