Work for the UN - Anyone here done it?

I have an opportunity to work for the UN, and was wondering if anyone here has or knows anyone who works or has worked @ the UN and what it is like?

The opportunity is in Geneva Switzerland, and I am a US citizen, so any scoop on any details of keeping citizenship or getitng the G4 Visa (i think thats what it is called).

I figure it could be a great experience and getting in on the UN could open up some opportunities to jumpstart my political career with a better understanding of global politics.
