So..Bush is Threatening to Veto Overtime Change
Well, it wouldn't have gone this far if it wasn't for union membership and people like us raising hell.
This has turned into quite a battle.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House issued a veto threat on Wednesday against a Democratic bid to derail its proposed changes in federal work rules that foes say could cost millions of Americans overtime pay.

Sen. Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrat, said on Tuesday he believed he had enough support to attach an amendment preventing the overtime pay changes to a $138 billion spending bill for health, education and labor programs.

If the Senate adopted the amendment, President Bush's advisers would recommend he veto the spending bill, the White House budget office said.
While it would only take a majority vote to approve the amendment in the Senate, an override of a presidential veto would require a two-thirds vote in the Senate and House of Representatives.

1. Bring it on, AWOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the dumb f*ck does it. We'll get tons of political mileage out of that-as we will with Smirk's shameful abuse of veterans.
Just what the hell is he going to run on? Two failed wars? A tanked economy? Bankrupt federal and state governments? I know-A TAX CUT WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING.

5. The 2000 selection proved that Bush* doesn't have to run on anything...
...in order to stay in office. They don't have to 'win' elections as long as the media cooperates in helping to coverup the fraud and corruption...and the Democratic party remains mute.

3. This bill is an outright payoff to industry and anti-union...
...Bush* supporters...and a slap in the face to the working class.

6. John Edwards a co-sponsor
Had to get that plug in their for Johnny.

I wanted to make sure they were increasing the requirement for overtime pay and they are, anybody earning less than $425 will be automatically eligible for overtime. So that's still there, which is good. This is a good issue to fight on, the Democrats are picking their battles and won't as easily be labelled as obstructionists that way.
