I've been racking my brains about what little old me can do about the whole darn mess our country is in.

I've decided that I'm done complaining and I'm going to do something about it. I made up a website to start the ball rolling and I'd love any feedback any of you can give me. I can take criticism, too. Just be kind and don't be too rough on me because it's my first attempt and it has to be a free site, for now. Let me know what you all think and give me any suggestions you can. I appreciate it.

I've witnessed the U.S. suspicions of other countries national elections, and the ensuing uproar...yet our own recent election fiascos seem to garner little more than a "get over it" response from the same people.

The people of the Ukraine are one of the main inspiring factors for me feeling this absolute need to get something done here in our own country. Those guys got together almost overnight and had a HUGE protest just like that. They're organized, now we have to be, too.

I would be a little careful with the words we throw around. The public use of that particular word in the 60's invited attention from some unsavory characters. Inflammatory language was a favorite trick in the 60's for infiltrators to use to provoke over-reaction by law enforcement, and to discredit the movement with the public.

There is a long, serious, sane and sober tradition of public agitation throughout our history. Read up on the struggles from the past - the abolition movement, the union movement, the suffragette movement, and the civil rights movement are a few notable examples.

we shouldn't be afraid to use any word or express any idea in this country. When someone writes the new Declaration of independence and dumps the tea in the harbor is the only time the r-word issuing from someone's lips or fingers should elicit a response from "unsavory characters". I think it's our duty to remind our leaders that we are a country born of a rebellion to tyranny.

This isn't about what "should" be, rather about what is. If the conditions are such that the response you recommend is appropriate, then it follows that the conditions are also such that foolish and isolated expressions of the way you feel could be stupid and self-defeating as a tactic.

Tyrants that need to be overthrown don't give a rat's you know what about what you should or shouldn't be allowed to do - by definition. A word will not bring the tyrant down. If it could, then they wouldn't be a tyrant, would they?

So either we are suffering under tyranny - in which case I would urge caution in the use of inflammatory rhetoric, or we are not, in which case I urge caution in the use of inflammatory rhetoric.

13. okie dokie first things first, before you all go out there and

get hurt.

This is an intro to the most basic elements of Civil Disobedience, as in PEACEFUL civil disobedience.

1.- NEVER EVER look for a confrontation. You find a freeper who starts screaming at you, leave. You are asked by security to leave, do so... the last thing you need is to participate in a confrontation, let alone create one. You cannot do this... stay home until YOU take some classes in civil disobedience.

Now here is what you can do... basic techniques

1.- Leaphleting, yes the First Ammendment guarantees your right to do such, be aware at all times of your surroundings. Oh and leaving a slightly "read" leaphlet on public transportation is perfect

2.- Talk to people, lines at restaurants, and supermarkets are perfect. Oh and LISTEN as well... it is just as important that you talk to the stret sweeper as you do to the head of the corporation.

3.- Demonstrations

4.- Alliances, you will find allies in the strangest of places, today, for instance I gave one leaphlet to a man who voted for Bush... it is a family tradition. He expected dubya to loose... once he got soome info about Diebold, a light bulb went on... he said.. "now i understand." He took one of these leaphets and was going to make copies to give to his friends, a nice rock into that proverbial pond... his friends are some pretty influential but scratching their heads executives... they did not expect dubya to win.
They also realize he would have won anyhow, since the vote was hacked and that is NOT ok.

5.- Salons, discusion groups what have you. Organizing Committtes, keep them at most to 12 people and run everything by democratic elections, this is about dmeocracy.

Oh and remember, any movement moves by the grassroots and no poltico will lead, but once there is enough umpght they will follow. The nature of humans is funny.

things running again.At first I was afraid it was a virus,started virus scan but got bored,so deleted the temp files.Because I couldn't even get the ISP home page or anything else except onto the phone line.

Our country can't afford to destroy any others soon unless an economic upturn re-fills the kitty. I am most convinced that a downturn, however painful locally, will entirely preempt "the mandate" of the current administration, as well as hamstringing any weak hope it has of forming coalitions for further efforts. The previous coalition, for instance, having been formed by massive loans, grants, guarantees, and payoffs.

The military draws its funding from the US economy as a whole. Two thirds of the US economy is driven by consumer spending. Stop spending! Nothing could be more simple, and I believe that nothing could be more effective. BUY NOTHING!

make a real effort in your lives to seek out what few "mom and pop" and privately owned small businesses who desperately need our help to survive Boxzillas like Wal-Mart. Wal-Marts sole purpose is to lay waste to small biz in an unwinnable price war. I know by design that few of us have the means to shop anywhere else these days but anything you can give back to what once was the glue that holds this nation together(small biz owners)will help the cause. The powers that be understand 2 languages. Violence and money. If you don't want to go one way and end up in gitmo then fight with your $$$

We will be registering the name today and setting up the server.

We have a beautiful blank slate, and we can "do it right" in terms of functionality. Lots of disk space and bandwidth available. I have about 30 open source programs ready to go to do just about anything that can be done on the web.

What would help is for people here to think creatively and expansively and post their ideas ..... "imagine if we could...." or "wouldn't it be great if...." in plain old human terms rather than tech terms.

Feel free to brainstorm on look and feel, too. We have the talent and can execute just about anything in the way of graphics.

Subjest to Aunt Anti's approval, of course, but it would help me to get a feel for what people want to see so I can plan for future needs and expansion in the intitial set up.
