Were the DC snipers a staged media circus event?

It all occured in the time frame of the anthrax attacks, and the buildup to war......FEAR. Every citizen was afraid of getting outside and getting hit by this ghost that you can't see.

Do you think this was staged to put fear into the population's minds? This reeks of the Gulf of Tonkin. The thought just donned on me as I was reading another thread.

1. It's so funny you mentioned that.....

I remember having the same feeling about it while they were happening, and telling my wife about it (not very eloquently, tho.) She thought I'd lost my mind.

But that whole series of events always reeked of stage-management to me, just like the Anthrax attacks and the Yale bombing (anybody remember that little incident?)

serial killers on the run in car that has been ID'd on the media always pull over at the nearest rest stop, put their wallet on the roof, and go to sleep, whenever they hear the phrase "like a duck on a noose"...
