Just watched***Michael Moore was being TOTALLY sarchastic.
Am certain it was a shock to those who saw it originally and I have had the luxury of getting warned, but his performance is DRIPPING with sarchasm and wit****

I loved it!!

I didnt agree with what he said about the election necessarily.

However, for him to go off on a diatribe about the fraud would have totally lost the audience. I thought he was actually superb. Don't even think that wasnt purposeful and tongue and cheek. Excellent!

I didnt see any of the nervousness that others talked about. Did I miss something? I think if anything, he may have felt awkward being in a suit, but I didnt see any awkwardness otherwise at all.

He was great, and I got his angle.

Good job Mr. Moore!****

1. You are totally right about the fraud
<<However, for him to go off on a diatribe about the fraud would have totally lost the audience.>>

If he'd have done that he'd have nearly destroyed the fraud story because he's already called a "conspiracy nut"

2. An unfortunate fact but true about us Americans*
We don't like too much reality when we are having fun. Moore gets it.

4. I loved the way he dished it right back to Leno
when Leno said something like, "isn't it freaky that OBL mentioned your film in his last tape?" (Leno is such an a**hole) and Michael said that, well, maybe he had a cable hookup or a DVD player and he observed: "He sure isn't living in a cave, is he Jay--he sure isn't living in a cave". Then Michael even topped that by saying, "In fact, in his last tape his backdrop looked a lot like the curtains from the set of the Tonight show". HAHAHAHAH The look on Leno's face was priceless. He just didn't like that at all. After that he couldn't wait to get MM off the show. Michael just runs rings around pissants like Leno. He's smarter, he's funnier, and he's way classier. I'm so glad I watched it. It really hurts to hear people booing him, though. It's sad after all he's done. When will they ever learn.

7. He did well.
The guy is a national treasure. One of the last media voices willing and able to stand up for the truth.

I'm really afraid he's going to kill himself with a fork though. :-(

5. Question about book (Will they ever trust us again?)
I, of course, purchased it right after it came out. Wonderful material...

However, I wonder where the money goes? Does it go to some sort of funding for soldiers and their families or another reputable organization that is aiding them in their time of need- or into Moore's pocket?

Just wondering.

6. Dont know. Much or most of his movie proceeds went to anti-war causes.
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 03:58 AM by shance
Im sure you could find out more info about where his proceeds to at michaelmoore.com.

It sure would be nice to have the same accountability, not to mention very respectful towards Americans in general if we had the same availability and transparency as to the information of where our tax money is going towards the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, wouldn't it?

In addition, Michael Moore like any other producer and business entity certainly doesnt owe Americans the information as to where his profits go, and yet he has been upfront as to where he wants to put his money and where it is going.

23. It goes towards sending troops any book they want
and of course copies of F911 and anything else he has written or documented, if they want it. Any troop just has to write him and tell him which book they want and he will send it to them.

8. My favorite part was when he said they told a good story.
I wrote him and asked if we should make our new slogan, "It's a lovely story, and you tell it so well." :)

16. 65
That is how many cities he traveled to. Held large rallies and spoke the truth. Personal I think its great someone can make a living trying to make a difference. The interview was full of sarcasm and innuendo. This admin 1st line of defense is kill the messenger. The story cannot be about MM right now. I think Mike knows that.

18. Michael Moore is selling himself
It was all a publicity stunt period. Time to wake up to reality, folks. Yes he was being a bit sarcastic, but if he wasn't, then we all wouldn't be left wondering, now would we.

I couldn't have been more disappointed in his appearance last night on Leno. Something tells me he's walking the fine line right now and he's tiptoeing through the masses.

We just got done with a friggin election where none of us are sure what the hell happened, and now this? Now we're supposed to be racking our minds at what Michael's up to? We don't need that. What we need is direction.

Write your books Michael and keep the good movies coming, but don't play games.

19. I hope you are right
I could see some sarcasm, but deep down inside he looked somewhat defeated. I'm sure he will heal up and dump the kool-aid.
Michael's profits really should be nobody's business
I'm not much up on the awards, but Moore stated that Fahrenheit 911 has been put up for an Oscar. Thank goodness, that movie will never go away very far. B*sh looks like an idiot throughout- so much material to work with.

20. I was a little dissappointed
In Michael last night. I do NOT beleive Bush earned more votes - It is just too perfect you know....too controversial for my mind to wrap itself around. How many other presidents won after having an approval rating at 50% or less? NONE How many times have presidents won after record turn outs to vote? NONE How many times has a president LOST all three debates and still won? NONE Why were the exit polls so skewed in only the optical scan counties and the rest were accurate???
And for Bush to conveniently gain 51 percent, gain a majority in all houses of government.....well you know - it just seems a little too perfect to me - especially after such a horrific campaign, the Iraq war mess, Abu Ghraib, Osama showing up. You have to know there are just so many things that would erode Bush support.

So - when Michael said that Bush won more votes and the crowd cheered - I was very turned off. So much that when the commercial break came on - I switched.

21. Michael didn't say Bush won or earned votes, he said
simply this bit of truth...Bush "got" more votes. On the surface of things this was the outcome, Bush somehow, magically, mysteriously, unlikely "got" more votes. Michael is still Michael, and I watched him on Jay Leno last nite, the fire is still there in Michael and he hasn't fallen into defeat. These seem to be a strange interim time and our heros aren't behaving exactly the way we want them to behave, and in my wishful thinking world, they are not for a reason....stay tuned.

24. He shut down Leno a little on OBL getting the pet goat story from F/911
That information was available in many places long before MM put it into his movie. Just because Leno first noticed it in F/911 doesn't mean that others did.

26. A good kick.
I totally missed this. I just heard my dad and my brother talking about seeing "Micheal Moore on Jay Leno" last night, with a clean shave, wearing a suit and tie saying, "If you can't beat them, look like them."

Moore's always had an awesome sense of irony.
