Propaganda email
I got one the other day that really freaked me out! The propagandistic implication of "taking a bullet for Christ" is really creepy to me.

The subject header was "Would you run?"
The body of the message talked about being in church and the body starts out like this:

One Sunday morning during service, a 2,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns.

One of the men proclaimed

"Anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are."

Immediately, the choir fled...the deacons fled...and most of the congregation fled....

Out of the 2,000 there only remained around 20.

The man who had spoken took off his hood...

He then looked at the preacher and said "Okay Pastor, I got rid of all the hypocrites... Now you may begin your service. Have a nice day!"

And the two men turned and walked out.

TOO DEEP TO NOT PASS ON... !

*Funny how simple it is for people to trash God ...

and then wonder why the world is in the condition it is today....

*Funny how we believe what the newspapers say...

but question what the Bible says...

*Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven...

provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says.

or is it scary?

*Funny how someone can say "I believe in God"...

but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes"in God).

*Funny ! how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire...

but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, you think twice about sharing.

*Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace...

but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and work place.

*Funny, isn't it? Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday...

but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Are you laughing?

*Funny how when you go to forward this message...

you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe...

or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

*Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me...

... than what God thinks of me.

Are you thinking?

Will you share this with people you care about?

Or not?

I picked you~

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
May the Lord ! lift up His favor upon you And give you His peace.

3. Funny how mythical "Persecution" fills inboxes with Holy Spam
When you can't throw a rock without hitting a stained glass window or turn on a television without watching some charlatan "healing" the sick and blind.

8. Really. Calling what happens here to so-called...
..."Christians" persecution demeans the sacrifice of those who really do suffer persecution for their beliefs.

4. I got a Jesus-based e-mail the other day
and then, from the same address, I got some work from home junk. I tagged them both as spam, after I replied to the Jesus one that I'm an atheist and wish to be left alone.

5. Isn't the concept of taking a bullet for christ Ironic?
Concidering he supposedly died for our sins, think how pissed off he would be if someone jumped in front of an on coming bullet or threw him off the cross and take his spot to save HIM.

9. Unless he's among us
What other context is that phrase "take a bullet for" used in?
I only hear it in pres. assassination context.
Talk about deification!

6. The "Christians" we have now....
...would pull their handguns out of their secret Bible compartment and start shooting back!

You know, this in actual fact is the problem with the "right wing" "Christians" (you'll notice that's in quotes - for a reason) we're dealing with today.

They're all fine to have someone else's kid go over to Eye-rack and kill them towell-heads for Jesus. They're all great to brag about how they voted so two committed people who happen to be gay can't get married. They're all happy to peddle real estate or life insurance to their friends at church.

But God forbid that someone should ask them to give up their Lincoln Navigator so some poor peasant in the third world can buy diesel for his tractor.

It's all just show and bullshit for most of 'em.

*Funny how we believe what the newspapers say...

but question what the Bible says...

The newspaper was written today by people we know and will be only one of several sources attempting to verify the information therein. The bible was written millenia ago. We don't know who the authors were. And can't question them if we did.

*Funny ! how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire...

You need to look at my inbox.

*Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace...

but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and work place.

You're allowed to be lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene in your school and work place?

*Funny how when you go to forward this message...

you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe...

or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

Unless you know me in which case you will send it to me anyway knowing perfectly well how much I hate this idiocy.

*Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me...

... than what God thinks of me.

That would be between you and your god. I don't have this problem.

10. ...because Fanaticism is the only *True Faith*...
it begins, the misunderstanding of the meaning of faith. *sigh* this is bad.

lord knows that since Jesus' main teaching was love and forgiveness one couldn't possibly act in a sensible human way in the face of an extreme situation. exactly, yeah, that's the inherent truth of his teaching -- fanaticism in the face of everyday life.

/sarcasm

these people are part of a death cult, pure and simple. anyone who doesn't get it by now can't tell shit from shinola.
