DU protect me! I'm getting threats about New Freedom Commission
I've done my part I've written some LTTE, I've called Senators and Congressmen, I called the MSM outlets about the New Freedom Commission.

Now today I've gotten 2 phones from the phone # 1 111 111 1111, first time the person called me a whacko the second they told me to watch out.

I give up, I'm done my part some of ya'll can stick your necks out, I have two little boys and a happy life.

If all of us do something they won't single me out.

So literally help me DU.

This is quite harrowing, if it is indeed true.

31. Police won't do anything.
In my experience, the police can't/won't do anything unless you get multiple repeat calls of a similar nature.

4. Call the phone company.
Get your number changed.

Who in your town knows you are working on this? I would not be surprised if this is coming from someone close by, who knows you and your number.

Do you have a feature on your line that blocks caller-id blocked calls? If so, use it.

Above all, calm down. You are getting rattled. If necessary, go spend some time with friends.

5. What does the phone number
# 1 111 111 1111 represent? Is this some way of blocking caller-ID?

8. you'd have to work for the phone company
to have your signal display something like that. or know somebody there.

unless of course, it is some setting with the actual telephone.

but it does sound really weird

10. Actually there was rule-change or clarification allowing false callerID
info to be passed. They can now legally make it appear your mother is calling when it's actually a collection agency. I think if you do a *57 and/or call the phone company when it happens, you may be able to trace the call anyway. Not sure though.

14. iis it about the
mental health or what ? sorry, I don't know what NFC is but I read at a tech site that you can buy a machine to put a number in and name of caller to show up whatever you want on caller ID. Police were using for felony warrants and then they were going to sell to Credit Bureau's and also telemarketing.

13. don't feel alone in this, Melodybe. many people are working on this.
are you familiar with mindfreedom org? there are numerous articles on this and activism about it, at their site:
http://www.mindfreedom.org/

also, it might be good to write them of what happened to you:
mailto: office (at) mindfreedom.org

it is great that you are acting and consciousness raising on threat to all. you are not alone in your determination.

peace!

Dupe of your own thread which is still on the main page, six or seven threads down from this one.

Edit: Or is your other thread a dupe of this one? I'm not interested enough to figure it out for myself.

19. You need to audiotape these calls! There are simple ways to
add a recorder to your land phone--check with radio shack. Once you get something, I encourage you to contact both local police AND insist that they contact the FBI. Let them know that if it takes going to the local media to get an investigation done of who is harrassing you and the entire story behind this, you are prepared to do so. However, you expect that they will trace these calls and share the information with the local FBI and you.

23. I googled the phone number
at www.google.com/unclesam (the one that you can search the government on) and this is what came up:

NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE
File Format: Microsoft Word 2000 - View as HTML
... From: A A. 6/Z111/. Claimant Name: (111) 111-1111 Toll Free: 1-111-111-1111. SSN:
DOB: Address: Facility: ALBANY MEDICAL CENTER. MEDICAL RECORDS. ...
www.otda.state.ny.us/cgo/MER/ Appendix_K_MER_Request_Form_2_pages.doc

You may want to do your own googling.

Good luck!

30. That's pretty normal.
It's a fairly standard way of saying "format phone number like this" i.e. x-xxx-xxx-xxxx (which is not preferred because it uses letters instead of numbers, and confuses some people.)

Yeah. I heard from some folks who have caller ID, and during the election quite a few of the automated "Hi, this is Bill Clinton on behalf of..." and "Dis is Ahnuld tell you is votes for..." calls showed up as 1-111-111-1111. Probably just caller ID blocking. Ooo... spooky!

that she contacted the phone company and there is nothing on record that has that as a block or a call back #.

34. I googled "caller id 111-111-1111" and found this article:
Software Service Aims to Outfox Caller ID
Publish Date : 9/2/2004 2:54:00 PM   Source : Technology News Onlypunjab.com

<snip>

That means he then visits in person, a time-consuming and sometimes dangerous task. But Mr. Smith, who runs a collection agency in Austin, Tex., says he may have found a solution: a new computerized service enabling him to create false outbound phone numbers with a click of a mouse, so he can skirt the call blockers.

The service, the first commercial version of a technology known mainly among software programmers and the computer-hacker underground until now, was introduced nationwide on Wednesday by a California company called Star38.

For $19.99 a month and as little as 7 cents a minute, customers can go to the company's Web site (www.star38.com), log in and then type the number that they want to call and the number that they want to appear on the caller ID screen of the recipient's phone.

<snip>

But the new service goes beyond past techniques like withholding the caller's number or masking it with a series of meaningless digits (calls from the main office of The New York Times, for example, regularly appear on the called party's screen as 111-111-1111). With Star38, for the first time it will be possible for vast numbers of people to place calls masquerading as someone else.

36. That's what I found as well
doing a google search. Seems to be this kind of software. CRAP that should be outlawed. I ALSO got one of these calls and I'm going to report it the phone company. I am VERY Glad the subject came up despite how horrendously frightening it's been for Melodybe. Don't let them get to you Melody...they are just trying to harass you...rubbish be gone before someone drops the house on them!!!

btw came across this rather humorous blog about a phone call from the infamous 111-111-1111:

http://www.xboxforums.net/archive/index.php/t-15581.html

"I just received a call from an Unknown name. The number was 111-111-1111.(seriously) So I hesitantly pick up the phone, and, to my ever-so pleasent suprise, it was none other then...*drum roll*................the president of the united states! And he was sounding more like a redneck then ever.
It was a machine unfortunately though...I've always wanted to let Bush know how I feel about him....Neutral (but with alot of angry curses).
So anyway, it went something to the extent of: *in deep southern(redneck)voice* Hello, this here is G3oRge doublya Bush. And 1 w4nt y0ur vote. I want to Le3d 0ur countree 4 da Next..**pause** uhh....*in backround* how many years do I sever per term Bill? *back to phone* for the next 4 years.. But 1n 0rD3r to do so, I need Yur help. Plus, if ya don't vote fer me, ima give away free nuclear weapons t0 any1 whoo wants em!! heeeyaaa! *rifles going off in backround* Ima catch me a piggeee!! "

Anyway, yea it went something like that, although, I don't think I emphasized the stupidity of it enough, or the redneck-ness, but you get the gist. Is John kerry making these stupid automated calls too? And arent these illegal?"
