2. If, by the economy growing............
he means weapons manufacturers, other companies sucking on the defense departments teat, and oil ,gas and electric companies, then I guess he's correct. The majority of the rest of companies however are still mired in the "Bush economic miracle".

6. And they're up because???
They increased their bottom line by selling more of what they produce? I don't think so...They're up more than likely because they increased profits by decreasing payroll...This is another stock market bubble, but go ahead, keep thinking its not...What do you think is the foundation that this supposed economic upturn is based on?

9. If You Say So
That's funny, that ALL of your stocks are WELL up. The markets overall performance doesn't reflect that sort of incredible luck.

Good for you, i think.

14. Actually
The market has done very well this year. I'm not sure which market you're talking about, but the DOW, NYSE, and NASDAQ are all up this year.

7. Actually, he's kinda right---BUT
Yep there have been positive things in various sectors but they always put the little footnote in that this is due to increased defense spending. Ask any Russian what zillions spent on making military stuff gets you. It's a one way money drain until the money is gone. Russia did this instead of pushing for a vibrant manufacturing sector, etc. that could be used to become part of world trade. Just look at the half a trillion debt---that's,in essence, the credit card bill for that "economic upswing". So the taxpayer is saddled both with buying this shit and paying the price of the debt. Then there is the big factor. A lot of this is due to corporations raking it in because they have cut the labor force to the bone and working their people like animals and/or hiring foreign labor. People are making money off of stocks BUT there are no jobs out there for people looking. In '04 they can shoot the "it's rosey" shit out their butt all they want but if it doesn't translate into a job, it means nothing. Oh, and because of the unemployment it starts taking a toll on small businesses. They need the people in town fully employed to keep their pizza places, and car repair shops full.

8. Exactly!
IOW, there's no solid foundation for the upturn. Their merely pouring money into things (like defense and tax cut for the wealthy) that have no return and that can't go on forever considering it's all being done on credit...

10. Case in point
Did Clinton ever need some stupid slogan pasted on the screen behind him?

I don't think so. His results spoke much louder than some words on a board.
