Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 10:31 PM by NightTrain
That Moore was on Jay Leno's show last night and said, "Bush won because he got more votes."

27. that's what I was thinking...
he said he won because of "more votes"...he didn't say "more people voted for him"...I think it may be some type of sarcastic remark in regards to rigged machines and voter fraud...

let's not crucify him yet...let's see what he is up to...!

30. my jaw dropped
on the rif he went on in regard to the parties' relative abilities to tell stories. "you see," MM said, "repukes are better at it. they told the story of 9/11. they said, we'll protect you. it won't happen again. and you know what? it hasn't. they've protected us."

that killed me.

33. Geez- are you kidding? Michael Moore is the ultimate in sarcasm
Clothes/hair/the words "got more votes..." /all that is nothing but a tacid acknowledgement of the cogs of the wheels that seem to be turning for now.

Of course Bush got more votes.
It's HOW HE GOT THEM that can't be broached on late night NBC.
Michael Moore will never be a sell out.

5. Maybe he wants the Republicans to prove him wrong....
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 10:34 PM by DianeG5385
They keep trying. I think he's up to something, after close observation of the polling outcomes maybe he knows something....This could cut either way, that is maybe there was massive fraud and he's setting this up OR, maybe Bush DID get more votes....This does not MEAN they were LEGAL or that ALL votes were counted. He is too dedicated to exposing Bush to go down easy.

Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 10:58 PM by DianeG5385
He's playing around with something. Remember, he became famous for his farcical antics with the Chairman of GM in "Roger and Me". This may be a new tactic.

have followed MM through his movies, books and speeches?

Could you not tell he was telling a story w/his words and appearance?

The footage from last night will appear in a future MM film.

Watch for it.

Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 10:37 PM by Erika
He voted for Nader in 2000. He has creative genius and a plan. Michael Moore is not going to go quietly into the night.

If you saw 9/11 you know he also slammed the democrats.

13. I tend to think that's likely
I know it's hard for many folks here to concede, seeing as how much hard work we all put into the election, but I just am not convinced yet that there was enough fraud and skullduggery to flip the outcome of the election. I'll keep the door open just a bit to the possibility, and I do not mean to say there was no funny business going on, but right now we need to face fact:

51% of American voters are one or more of the following: selfish, racist, homophobic, mean-spirited, ignorant, greedy, jingoistic, militaristic, lazy or just outright dumb-asses.

14. Yup- that is exactly what he said.
Looking clean shaven, relaxed and mellow, Michael Moore, when asked by Leno about what happened during the election, said that Bush won because he got more votes". No mention of voter suppression, long lines, irregularities, the "F' word- nothing about his film crews being on site watching it all, etc. Not a word. If you read back to last night's postings, you can catch up and see how everyone was flabbergasted. With that said, there were a number of people who said that we were overreacting and that this was all "part of the plan" to keep everything under the radar. It does sort of make sense that this could be possible, given his obvious dislike for Bush and the fact that he has collected more information on the potential of fraud then almost anyone else at the moment.

I personally, would like a bit of a hint from him to indicate that he is in fact, working on preparing something really dramatic to propel this into action. Who better then Michael Moore to do this?

Come On Michael-- send us a wink! We promise to wink right back!!

17. I have to assume that he's up to something.
In the late 1980s, when Jello Biafra was being prosecuted for "trafficking in harmful matter," he made frequent TV appearances, and always in a suit and tie. Biafra's belief was that the more skeptical viewers would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he wore what he called "the Halloween costume."

Perhaps that's what Michael Moore is thinking?

19. OK but before you freak out...
technically, that's correct - by the count so far. However, the count is still contested. He didn't say he believed more *people* voted for the shrub, only that the shrub got more votes.

He also said the repugs "told a better story" - which can be taken a zillion ways.

Read between the lines. MM is not a sellout kind of guy - I think that's more than obvious.

Actions speak louder than words. Read between the lines. As we discussed somewhere last night, maybe he needed some suit-and-tie footage for his documentary-in-the-making.

29. I agree, it IS true...Bush did get more votes...not legally...
but he got 'em--unless we can prove otherwise. Moore just parsed his words. He's not making a sequel to F/911 for nothing.

the IRS audit . . .

he most definatly knows more then we and his staying out of the fray is a good thing . . .

he is a prime GOP target / boogie man . . . if he was yelling fraud it would be a nightmare . . . REALLY.

he is paying it cool --- be glad. i am sure he will have plenty to say in time!
