So I bought "It Can't Happen Here". Guess who was in the bookstore? |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 12:57 AM by PlanetBev
Yes, folks, things appeared to be busy at the Thousand Oaks, CA Borders book store tonight. I asked the attendant if it was just the Christmas rush, and she informed me that Dr. Laura was in the store signing books. There was even Dr. Laura bracelets for sale.
Why does this hypocritical phony have such a following? You'd think after those nude photos of her were released on the Net that she would go crawl under a rock, but I guess not.

It's just Dr. Laura, for cripes sakes... now if it was Mann Coulter, y'all would need a dip and a week to detox. ;)

2. "Youthful Indiscretions" cover a multitude of sins... and ages. |
|
Drinking, atheism, perversion, drug-use, spousal abuse...
I wanna be a repuglican so I can be a youth until I'm 40!! I want to get that student discount, behave irresponsibly, act out my oedipal complex, lie, cheat...
:eyes:
Pcat
P.S. I would have left the bookstore without buying anything, and made my reason clear.
P.P.S. :hi: I used to live in Thousand Oaks a billion years ago!

Still in California? I didn't know till I moved to T.O. that there are a lot of knuckledraggers up here. Still, it's better than The Valley.

7. Fun with Dr. Laura's books |
|
Walmart usually sells "Doctor" Laura's books. They also usually sell feminine hygiene products.
Remove "Doctor" Laura's books, carry them across the store, and re-shelve them where they belong-- next to products that are supposed to keep women "feeling fresh."

|
I read "Atlas Shrugged" almost twenty years ago and I swear I thought it was a parody. I thought Ayn Rand was kind of a female Kurt Vonnegut. My mother spoiled it for me.
BTW....Who is John Gault!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Scholarship... then I applied at Arizona State and got a better one, so transferred.
I seem to recall that T.O. is ... um... affluent like Orange County used to be. Still true?

13. Nothing - I am an atheist. But from HER world view, it's an indiscretion. |
|
In HER world view, it's one of those horrid things that only the young, stupid and misguided do.
Personally, I'm glad we got rid of her. I wouldn't want her psycho-babble cluttering the argument about atheism. She'd be the worst spokesperson possible. I feel sorry for whatever religion she's claiming...

I completely forgot that she used to be an atheist before she became a born-again religious Jew.
I guess I really was too sleepy last night to figure out the joke.

I'd have asked her..
Why did you live with your husband before you married him?
Why did you have an affair with your professor and break up his marriage..
Then I'd ask her.(probably this one first) Why do you always ask ladies who are not married to give up their babies when you kept your "bastard" child and didn't even give him his father's name until much much later? Long after you married the man. And where in the hell did you get married? It wasn't in CA.
I'd like to get on her radio show and ask her that ..
She makes me sick! I do not think her son is a bastard but I'd call him that to her bigot asshole face because she has guilted and shamed so many women who are pregnant and unmarried. Bitch!
She is always tellling them to give them away because they just can't do it without a husband.

T.O. is "freeper central" for Ventura County. The Promenade is owned by a right wing freak, so it doesn't surprise me that Borders was accomodating that whack job.

You're right, it's B&N at the Promenade. I don't know what I was thinking.
The guy who owns the Promenade is Rick Caruso, CEO of Caruso Affiliated. He's a big freeper...gave $25,000 to the RNC this year, as did his freeper wife.

Now I know that "W" stands for Windrip!! Good read...the first chapter or two is a little slow and descriptive, but it moves along very nicely after that. Excellent read...I finished it a few weeks ago...with a tear.
