Is US citizenship necessary to be sent to Iraq?
My Russian friend's two kids, who are in the National Guard, are being sent to Iraq. They're not US citizens; they joined the Guard for education benefits. They're both very much against this war, as is their mother. She's out of her mind about this--very scared, and says that this country is becoming "just like Russia". They've been in the US for ten years. I know absolutely nothing about the military. Can somebody out there explain this to me?

2. Too bad, so sad. They signed on the dotted line.
Their asses are owned by George W. Bush. Nothing can be done to change it. That's how it works, citizenship or not.

It's a sad state of affairs, but they chose to sign up so they get sent over.

3. Sorry, not a requirement. In fact, those are the ones that are
in the mass burials of US soldiers, according to the rumors. The gov't trying to hide the number of dead.

Yes, we are becoming like Russia. A good choice at this point may be him going back to Russia.

4. No.
You just need to be in the service. There was a dustup a little while ago about a soldier who didn't get his citizenship until he came back from Iraq.
