1. What's really sad...

...is to think of all the truly good things that could have been done with that money. How many people could have been fed, children clothed, families sheltered, or sick tended to with that money?

Instead it all goes up in smoke, losing the race for the White House and seats on the Hill, with nary a thing to show for it...unless you're one of the glorified egos on the inside of the power structure who reap the windfall regardless of the election outcome.

What does this say about our priorities? Is this all just a chance to boost ourselves by hopeful inclusion on "the winning team" or are we truly dedicated to making a tangible difference?
