I had a dear student of mine who, at age 17, killed an old woman at an interscetion near my house. She got a ticket...it was an accident! Ironically, my daughter had a wreck at the very same intersection. Totalled her car, but both drivers came away unharmed.

There is not a SHRED of evidence that suggests any alcohol was involved in either party, and your link even says that is was neither's fault. I live in the Midland area and the place where her accident occured has had several more accidents since then. The rules of the game must be the same for everyone.

I grew up white in the segregated South. African Americans were ridiculed for each and every misdeed. The few white Southerners who stood up for African Americans were ridiculed as well. And white Southerners who pointed out the faults of other whites were shunned.
