Favorite and most despised TV anchors or reporters?

My favorite anchor is ..Lou Dobbs. Or Dan Rather.

I absolutely despise that Assman dude on Fox.

Hannity is also on my most despised list.

3. Hannity and O'Reilly are opinion pundits

so they are not really newsmen. Not that there really is a difference anymore, it's just that they don't pretend as much as the others. I'd have to say that Brit Hume is my most despised. Crusty old bastard and hypocrite extraordinarie. After all of his "support the troops" bullshit he spit out he then told parents of soldiers killed in Iraq to "get over it." What a scumbag.

5. Is anyone else annoyed to no end by "anchor-speak," you know,

they way they do all these facial gymnastics, move their head around unnecessarily, and put way more frequent and extreme inflections in their speech than normal. When you watch international news, the newscasters do not do this; they just sit there and read the news like a normal person. I find watching network or cable news unbearable; not even so much because of *what* they say, but becasue of *how* they say it.

I actually wrote to Rudi Bahktiar (sp) of Headline News about a year ago, telling her that I couldn't stand the way her voice raised an octave at odd moments. She replied, saying something like, "You are alone in your criticism, but I will consider it". She's not on as often nowadays, but when I see her, she's still doing it! There's another woman on Headline News that gets on my nerves. She's blonde and is called Christie something I think, but I call her "face ache" because of all her frowning and facial contortions.
