Hustler Magazine lays bare the history of closeted gay Rep. David Dreier (R-CA) on newsstands Friday, RAW STORY can reveal.

The issue, dated for February, includes an article chronicling the rise and seeming fall of the House Republicans shining star David Timothy Dreier, a 52-year-old Californian legislator whose gay life was laid bare earlier this summer by RAW STORY and blogACTIVE.com, then picked up by LA Weekly.

Titled “CONGRESSMAN DAVID DREIER: GAY & ASHAMED,” the piece offers a handful of new details not previously reported, including a charge that high-level California Republicans have been aware of (and sanctioned) Dreier’s gay lifestyle for many years.

Hustler Magazine authorized RAW STORY and blogACTIVE to except parts of the article Thursday evening.

I've said it before, but Dreier deserves getting busted. He's a total hypocrite. He was my representative in CA for 12 years, and he never did a conscience vote even once that I knew of. It was party line all the way. Useless piece of garbage, gay or not gay. It doesn't really matter whether he is or not--he's a lousy excuse for a human being, and that's the important part. But when he fights measures that would end some of the maligning and intolerance of others, whether it's on gender preference, gay marriage, or simply in respect to any measure that would help make other lives better, he's never shown any sympathy or empathy. I hope this ends his reign of terror in San Gabriel Valley.

people here in the dems party in so cal have known about dreier for a decade but figured it was his own business with the repubs, but I for one am not sad he is outed.

I know outing makes some people uneasy, as it feeds the hysteria of the right wingers and especially the unchrist-like christians who use it for publicity for their own sordid causes.

On the other hand, the theory is that the more people know of gay people, the better the long term chance for tolerance.

26. Years and years ago...

... long before Arnie became a H'wood star and household name, there were common rumors among the gay male friends of mine regarding der Gropenator and another bodybuilder by the name of Franco Columbo (sp?). I certainly wasn't into bodybuilding and being a gay woman really had zilch interest in self-absorbed, musclebound guys, but I still remember that being the topic of more than one conversation. Who knows.

BTW, no offense meant to any bodybuilders here (re: the "self-absorbed" remark), it's just that I can't imagine anyone more self-absorbed than Arnold.
