Obviously, I exclude the seemingly 3.478% of us that have it right...I was referring to the people that elected Tom Coburn, and passed a marriage definition with 99.99999997% in favor or something like that.

2. Your state is also full of wonderful people and places. |
|
Our friend Susan is an example. Nearly killed on 4/19/95 (she worked across the street from the Murrah Bldg), she's now a docent at the Memorial, not to mention one of the best people I know.
My father's family are from Oklahoma.
The first time I heard the din of cicadas, it was in Oklahoma.
I love Oklahoma and its people and its -- just everything.

5. You're right - there are a few things |

worth noting here.
But for every flicker of light I see, there are 24 dark thunderclouds.

4. i know there is one good person there. you. |
|
and Im sure there are others.
Even the most liberal and enlightened of places has its share of dull cogs. Oklahoma just has a slightly larger share than some others.
peace.

6. Someone once said in an article in Urban Tulsa |
|
"What's good about Oklahoma is what is bad about Oklahoma"
If one looks at the people and not the politics, things are doing pretty good here. The religious right talks a good story, but as I look around, I see people living in harmony all over.
Here in Tulsa, there is a large gay community. The gay pride parade goes off every year without a hitch. People live together, unmarried, and no one says a thing. I have many bi-racial children at my school and there is nothing said.
It is a bi-polar place. People talk religion and right wing values, but in everyday life, I don't see that it has much influence. Anyone watch Survivor? Scout from Suvivor lives openly with her partner in Stillwater Oklahoma. Not a word has been said about that and not a person really cares one way or the other.
It's almost as if there is the talk and then there is the real world.
