Sharon rejects talks with Syria
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said on Thursday he opposed peace talks with Syria while it continued to host Palestinian militant groups in Damascus.

"I would not advise Israel to enter into a system of dialogue with the Syrians when all the terror groups are there," Sharon said, referring to Palestinian militant factions that Israel says have offices in the Syrian capital.

Once conditions were ripe, Sharon said in broadcast remarks, he would be willing to meet Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

However, Sharon told a press conference in Tel Aviv that he did not see "any real sign" that Syria wanted peace, after Assad made it known that he was willing to reopen peace talks.

"I have heard the peace calls coming from Syria. If Syria’s intentions are serious, we will examine them," he said.

I guess Sharon herd that Syria is on the US conquer list and doesn't mind waiting until the BushCo War Machine moves and sets up shop. I guess when that happens Sharon will that to be the right condition to talk about peace. How nice of him.
