Anyone know how to remove "read only" from
windows "My documents". I want to copy the files to a CD.

1. Highlight the file and
click on file/properties you should be able to unclick the read only property.

2. Right click then hit Properties - then unclick " Read Only " then Apply

3. Right click on it.
There should be an option at the bottom to uncheck on the menu that comes up.

4. Highlight all the files and right click on one of them
then select properties. You will see the attributes at the bottom of the window.

5. For individual docs ...just right-click...then properties shows attributes
and can change them

6. open the file
and copy it to the disk. You could also change the name and copy it.

7. Thanks everybody. Even though I "unclicked" the read only box
it still told me access denied. Then I went to my "drag disc" window and hauled the my documents file to that window and it worked. The last time I did this it wasn't that complicated. I simply highlighted all my files and went to the "send to" box and sent to my F drive. :crazy:

Job complete.
